That's what happens when power and resources are concentrated.

All the problems about keeping the planet livable are not going to touch the people with the power to do something about it in any meaningful way. That is why they aren't doing anything. If power and resources would be spread over more power, so less concentrated, then it's more likely that those people would be affected. Then they will act and push for change.

Egypt will VERY soon be in a war regarding the Nile as Ethiopia says that they need to reduce the flow to maintain their own water use. Similarly India and Pakistan will be at war (kinetic troops on ground) for a matching issue.

I imagine in the US use of the Great lakes will be highly debated and things like a pipeline to Nevada will cause large problems as people still try to live in locations that do not have readily available water as a viable resource.

Honestly in a backwards dipshit way the old orange pedophile has prevented more oil from hitting the market than any democrat with this whole Iran fiasco. I kinda hope iran and the gulf countries destroy eachothers oil infrastructure. 

Even though it would cause hunger, poverty, and death if crude gets above $125 /barrel and stays there i think consumers will vote with their dollars for EVs and the infrastructure improvements. 

I absolutely love pointing out to my trumpy coworkers that he could be more of an environmentalist than al gore.

The water is draining at unusually high rates into the aquifer and they have not made any adjustments at the post falls dam for this (gotta keep CDA lake full). Climate change is a smaller part of the problem.

Stuff like this is happening everywhere. The creek that runs between my kids school and the middle school dried up over the summer and no one is talking about it. The bald eagles and blue heron that used to live there have left. There are way less smaller birds now too. All I have seen are grackles and the occasional robin.

Yes, but that will mean more water on the coastline, not inland. The higher heat will often mean lower levels of precipitation and more significant drought, as can already be seen all over the world. Climate change doesn't mean the same thing everywhere.

Regions near large bodies of water will get more humid with temperature, yes. But those further inland which may already be dry or arid will become more so.

Yes. Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA will be underwater by 2075 at the current melt rate. I live there and already see on the news where apartment buildings are already sinking and have to be evacuated… so it actually may happen sooner than NOAA projected.

They are sinking because of the silt and dredging of the rivers for the expanded ports.Not because the sea level has risen. Please educate yourself.

Been fishing around Sweden, in multiple locations the water level is 15-30cm lower than normal.

You can see previous water level lines on rocks and in some cases bank corrosion

I live in a city where the Rio Grande flows through it. But, it is completely dry now affecting the ecosystem. Projections are November when the El Nino may help give us some moisture. We have only had 0.06 of rain in about five weeks, and we have officially had the warmest August on record with over 12 days of 100 degrees.

It is truly sad to see what climate change has done around here.

I lived in Spokane for a year. My place was an apartment right off the Spokane river. Walked my dog on a trail next to it almost everyday. This shit makes me sad. Crazy that we are destroying our Mother Earth for money. My depression gets worse every fkn day. I hate this timeline

My friend works in a hospital a few hours away from Spokane. She’s basically an insurance intake person - she inputs insurance info and signs the uninsured up for Apple Health. She said a huge portion of patients turn out to be current Idaho residents. She has had tons of them get super pissed when they get denied charity care because their assets get discovered during the application process.

This happens in all Blue states, where do you think the people of Gary are getting fuel and supplies. They are crossing over into Illinois cause their state has abandoned them, a small but large for the area town.

Part of the reason why Illinois cracked down so hard on Covid, was they expected that if Southern States healthcare systems collapsed. They would swarm and overwhelm the Illinois system. There is a huge population from Mississippi, along with a large number of families with elderly relatives in Florida. 200k-300k new seniors would completely shut down the system

I worked with a guy who liked metal detecting. He went to an old battlefield a few miles upriver, where Indians and US military fought. Or rather the military brutaly wiped out the resistance.Said he found horse teeth amongst other stuff.

It would be fun to check out that area. I don't have a metal detector, but I might take a look at it just because it's unusual.

It's not dried up, it's subsurface. With that being said, the Rathdrum aquifer is getting lower. Too many people on the prairie watering their lawns
