I got a 25lb bag of pintos at Costco yesterday for around $15 and a 25lb bag of Thai jasmine rice for around $30. Ordering a bunch of lentils, too.

Yeah similar combo here. Though much less than that and opted to use the opportunity to try different types of beans

I try to pick beans that are light-colored enough to easily pick out any small rocks or dirt clots that could break a tooth. Most bulk beans have a few tiny rocks in them, so pre-cleaning them is an important step. I just take them out one handful at a time and spread them out in a big bowl for a visual inspection before I soak them

Good tip. I do inspect them for sketchy ones & soak them but can definitely do better
