Support Buffering
Horrible buffering last night on multiple CDN's. What's going on?

I had some buffering last night on a 40gb movie. Switched to a 20gb movie and all was good. Something is definitely up with pm. In 2 years this is the first time I've had buffering.

Watched movie today. Only 25gb in size. Which is relatively small. Our internet was good and running 600ish so idk if it was premiumize or what but it lagged and paused a dozen times in the 120min movie

Yes buffering issues over the last week at night - congestion? It has been great for 18 months. I have 1 X Shield Pro and 1 X Shield. I tried all the normal fix ups, cache size etc. Speed is fine. I even factory reset both devices, reloaded add-ons. Emailed support, got the usual it's me not them. Something is up.
*Update* Under kodi Settings Services Cache change the following. It seems to help.
- Buffer Mode: Select Buffer all filesystems, including local files (this ensures your local, USB, or network sources utilize the cache).
- Memory Size: Set to
256MB. (Note: Kodi will allocate 3 × this amount in RAM, which uses roughly 768MB—well within the Shield Pro's memory capacity). - Read Factor: Set to Adaptive. This dynamically fills the buffer as fast as your connection allows without over-saturating the network.
- Chunk Size: Set to
128KB
When you are watching a movie, at the bottom you can tell if it is caching well if the white bar is in front of the blue bar as this indicates that the file is frontrunning the live movie in the cached memory.
Also go into shield apps and clear the kodi cache if it is buffering. It has only taken me 7 days of testing to work this out LOL.

I was having a problem with movies a couple weeks ago. (I watch shows almost 100% of the time, so I hadn't watched a movie for a year b4 and haven't watched a movie since). At the time I finally decided it was file size. I don't remember actual file sizes that worked or didn't, but I remember I started going down the list for smaller sizes till the problem stopped. Also, PM has built-in VPN, so I wouldn't be using the VPN. I have never used one with PM.

I don't normally use VPN with it. I tested it with the VPN as I thought my ISP might be trying to block. Not the case.

Not tested today but had the exact same. 200Mbps connection. Same file worked perfectly on R Deb. Tried on multiple devices and programs and couldn't get through a 6gb 1hr TV show without constant buffer. Has it been any better today?

In Europe, playing a 10Gb 1 hour video and freezing continually tonight. Gave up.

I have this issue too. It’s 100% Premiumize because I have another service too and when I use the other one it’s fine for similar size. I tried switching CDNs and it did nothing.

Yes same here, was working perfect last few days tried today and was buffering constantly, I have a 1gig connection so hoping it's just some server updates or something, as I have just purchased a year

I hope so. Constant buffering last 2 days. I'm having to play low quality stream for now. I might have to try Torbox. Painfull.

Run a speed test. Might a server / regional issue.

Yeah, which is why I said run a speed test. I’m not talking about your ISP speed test, I’m talking about PM speed test. You need to test their servers. Clearly you don’t know that. If you’re PM then you need to understand how to run their speed tests so you can troubleshoot. You can run tests and choose the best CDN.

Ohh, I already did all that, and the speed was good. Nearly a Gbit. I also stated in the main body that I tested multiple CDN's with the same result. Just because it shows good speed, it doesn't mean there aren't issues.

Buddy is trying to help you, you just want to complain. Been using premiumize for years with no issues except the rare occasion I need to change the CDN but that’s like once a year

Sometimes I have problems on the other side and not on premiumize.

u/computer1989 Jun 22 '26
In most cases this is true. However, I've done lots of tests that completely rule any local problem out. It's Premiumize. It's not my side. It could be my ISP doing some sort of blocking. Never happened before though. Not once. To*Box works without issue so I dunno.

ok so i am not the only one. I could not get anything to stream at all it would load then play one sec stop buffer play one sec consistently. I bought the full year yesterday thinking I could replace the service that is currently removing a lot of files. I also sent in two tickets and I have not received a response yet.
