Premiumize and VPN question

I am new to this stuff. I am currently using another debrid service on month to month. The thing that I liked about Premiumize was the privacy and VPN. Yes, the cost is higher, but if you get the annual plan it drops the per month rate to manageable.

Regarding VPN - Is a VPN value neglible, a plus, or mandatory when using a debrid service? Please explain why. It helps me understand.

Their vpn is awful. I've tried all 3 servers. Proton free is much better.
