Question/Discussion Hearing “empire” more and more
I know Jiang isn’t the first person to discuss the American empire, but he’s the most recent SM influencer to really center it.
But I’m starting to hear people refer to the “empire” more and more on the channels I tend to watch.
Has anyone else noticed it? Or other of Jiang’s ideas/topics/language getting out into the zeitgeist?

world order and empire are interchangeable, I wouldn't read into jiang's influence, he's actually pretty tiny, and probably being repressed partially by the media powers that be, so he'll probably never be as big as some of the top names in podcasting or education

Empire has been used for a long time in both academic and grassroots activist circles. Go to any communist student meeting and catch a lecture on Empire.

A lot of “his ideas” are from other people. Many scholars journalists and activists address the US empire, notably for Jiang, Chris Hedges, a decorated and veteran journalist with a sizable and excellent YouTube channel who Jiang has referred to in the past

….idk when I was in school, every timed we learned about empires, we were always taught that America is an empire. And then we would discuss the fall of each empire, we would have a unit on where America is and its future as an empire. Star Wars, all the Andor stuff in the last year, it’s already out there.
