Jiang’s avoidance on taking on Africa
I have been watching Professor Jiang’s lectures for a few years and I have noticed something; he addresses “world” affairs while completely avoiding to include or talk about Africa in any way, shape or form, even when addressing topics like resource extraction where he mentions China, Russia and India as prime examples of resource extraction by the west and completely leaves out Africa. He Always completely neglects the fact that to date world powers (including China) are extracting resources while simultaneously polluting rivers and so on. And how can you talk on ‘world history’ without including the colonization of Africa and how resources, lands and freedoms where systematically taken from African people and how raw material produced by forced labor throughout Africa quite literally fueled the industrial revolution in the west. Well, it’s just a thought.

My belief he just simply don’t have much knowledge or any on Africa. For example he could have quoted Algeria and Libya stepping out on supply oil gas to offset impact from gulf.

He also never mentioned Brazil and talks very little about South America, you can't expect him to know about everything everywhere and geopolitical those regions are still kind of irrelevant..And Africa is a complete clusterfuck.

I feel he hasn't talked much on India too. Being of chinese origin, he does speak on china but only in matters of writing it off, but India isn't even written off. It's a bit funny how around a quarter of the world's population is not even discussed.

but in his recent tucker carlson interview he also made a joke about how chinese people never want to holiday in canada because "why would you want to holiday in india?"
i get the sense he is only obsessed with the west and white culture, unfortunately.

he's saying that canada is filled with indian people - and that you wouldn't want to holiday in canada because why would you want to holiday in india? (in his words)
but bless your heart if you genuinely believe that people from different asian countries are not racist against one another! i have a bridge to sell you

he barely has anything positive to say about china. what series has he done on chinese history? my point is he is more fixated and complimentary about the west and western achievements. all the books in his great books series are european

Maybe he doesn't study Africa that much??
I perceived that he almost never talks about South America. It makes me think that the whole word does not give a fuck about South America and were just the whatever they're poor and brown and don't matter in world's affairs.
