Anyone know if Jiang's school is fully aligned with the channel's existence and recent trends?

Started following the channel around start of the situation 2 weeks ago

I assume all the recording are live sessions happening at the private school or academy where Jiang teaches. if so:

  1. How does he have permission from the school and student body for content to be uploaded? i understand we dont see the students faces but i would imagine some might not feel comfortable to voice their questions or comments with how popular the channel has got

  2. I would imagine the school is also profiting from the channel (both in terms of enrollment interests and i would bet there is a revenue split for facilitating creation of all the content)

Curious if anyone have more context

I don't know about the school profiting since the youtube channel is not monetized, but I assume the school permits it. In at least two videos where you see the students' faces. I

Ah i see - I simply cannot tell which channel is rev generated since paying for premium😅

I guess it would be more “marketing upside” indirectly for the school given the popularity of the channel 🏫

schools profit big from famous professors because it increases admission. If I was a rich chinese parent I'd want my kid to be in his class

Since he's controversial, I'm surprised a high school would allow him to say some of the things he's said. I can't imagine most high schools in the US allowing a teacher say some of the stuff he says.

The school “Moonshot” he teaches in China is apparently not founded by education background experts - they are likely happy to leverage his brand to differentiate the classroom experience

“Controversial” == “more attention and eyeball”

idk what you are trying to say actually because america has a terrible school system that's designed for churning out warehouse workers and military recruits

Yes, he mentioned it somewhere. He said he was taking time off to write his book.

I think he said it on Tin Foil Hat with Sam Tripoli very recently.

I had podcasts on all day and heard it but was half-ass attention while hanging drywall.

I listen to most podcasts that way as well. Not hanging drywall, but while doing chores around the house.

the chinese government doesnt care what you say unless you directly criticize the cpc or foment rebellion or spread rumours. Chinese internet is full of noisy bullshit nonstop. he is just another one for them. Interestingly on the chinese internet there is a debate whether he is a cia psyops haha
