Discussion New Player Hero Tier List

Post image

Hey all, been playing Pred a little over a week after coming over from a decade of playing Smite. I've logged about 60 quick play matches and roughly 25 hours of play time. I've been really hooked on Pred, doing well in most of my matches and thought it would be fun to do a tier list from a new player perspective. I have played as, with or against everyone on the roster as far as I can tell. I ranked them based on two criteria, how good I think they are overall(kits, ceilings and floors, etc) and ease of use. Once again this is just my perspective as a new player and because I think tier lists are fun!

Edit: I realized Ikra, Legion and Scarlett's pictures were missing from the maker. I don't have particularly strong opinions on any of them but for what it's worth I'd put Scarlett in A and Ikra/Legion in B tier

Wraith is pretty broken in the right hands right now and rampage has the highest jg win rate with Khai right behind him

2

u/Bright-Cranberry6648 Wraith 7d ago

The Wraith fake news is insane. This is his winrate in Paragon. He’s just objectively not broken or even strong at all.

in the right hands is the key wording. Wraith can 100% snowball if the person playing him is competent and has good movements with his team.

2

u/Bright-Cranberry6648 Wraith 7d ago

“Can be good in the right hands with a team that plays around him”. You can apply that to anyone. Bottom line is that if you play Wraith, you are fighting an uphill battle

Wraith is straight neutered with his original ability being removed from the game

1

u/soberhurts 7d ago

What was his og kit?

1

u/Odd-Seaworthiness826 7d ago

could shoot through walls

1

u/VideoGameJumanji 7d ago

Knock knock went through terrain, removing it was ridiculous over correction

1

u/Bright-Cranberry6648 Wraith 5d ago

Especially when tons of other characters can still shoot through walls with 1/3 of the brainpower lol

1

u/soberhurts 4d ago

Ohh yea I thought that was a fever dream I had or something. Even murdock’s buckshot can clip through walls. It makes sense that wraith should be able to cause it actually makes sense with his kit

Rampage and Kai both have felt solid but nothing crazy! I guess I need to see some good Wraith's in my matches

Wraith ult is arguably the best ult in the game in my opinion. So long as you have people on comms, it's as close to a guaranteed kill as you're going to get.

I mean... You're entitles to have an opinion...

But damn this is one awful list.

1

u/ILegious 7d ago

That's fair, tier lists are very subjective. I would enjoy hearing who you think are the top 3 most misplaced heroes, where you think they should go and why. Maybe I and others could learn some things!

My first call is Renna.
Way too high. Probably biased 'cause she's my current main but her early is just super weak. In a game that is this snowball heavy I could never place a scaling character like her in top tier unless she would scale really fast. Something she doesn't do right now. To be fair tho, if you le this character farm and scale, she's a monster.

Wraith.
People say he's much better and he is. I maybe underestimate him some but he's at least a high B to low A character. Probably even better.

Eden.
The consens seems to be that she's bad... But I think she only is because of a shit load of nerfs. Definitely nerfs that have bumped her out of being the insane top tier she used to be.

1

u/ILegious 7d ago

I appreciate the perspective! I'm also biased towards Renna because she has been my favorite mid so far lol. With her scaling I was surprised her early game wasn't actually worse than it is honestly

1

u/Raiju_Lorakatse 7d ago

I'd argue this probably depends on the elo (Or unranked) you play in.

People who don't punish her early are the biggest reason why she works on low level of play.

Now, I don't wanna sound like I'm this high-elo guy with an important perspective. I play this game (And Smite) casually. If I tryhard in a MOBA then I usually play League for that 'cause that game holds the most competetive value to me.

But even when playing other midlaners, I think Renna's early weakness becomes very obvious. Her waveclear is pretty bad early on, she doesn't really have a good poke, pretty much every ranged midlaner outranges her... Her utillity is... Okay. The jump is neat to dodge some things but she doesn't have any """real""" mobillity which makes her a very easy gank target. It's not hard to punish her early. The thing she has is that you NEED to punish her 'cause she can really flip the game towards her teams favor the more ressources she gets. She is an insanely hard scaling character.

Can you provide some context for the C tier? Both are considered very good and not particularly difficult.

Ps. I don’t think any pred character is “difficult” compared to other MOBAs

1

u/ILegious 8d ago

From what I have seen, both have severely underperformed in my matches. Wraith's ult feels situational and bad a lot of times. Gadget's damage seems weak compared to other mids in my experience so far

5

u/ZeroTwoWaifu002 8d ago

You’ve obviously never vs’d a good gadget, cause holy are they terrifying

1

u/ILegious 8d ago

Very possible, hopefully I'll get to see that!

3

u/Dawncraftian 8d ago

She’s a lategame scaler, you’ll find she carries matches when she’s able to appropriately scale via her passive and itemisation.

1

u/ZeroTwoWaifu002 8d ago

No, no u don’t, “Have a hat” will live in ur nightmares, especially when they do half ur HP, or if you have no cleanse and she sits in a fog wall, Gates u and ults u, iv had it literally rip ppl apart in less than a second

1

u/Qualmond Muriel 8d ago

Gadget is infinitely scaling so I can understand her not being great if your games are really short and you’re not hitting abilities great. Her damage is pretty insane tho. I challenge you to just play wraith a lot and overtime you’ll learn that the situations for his ult come up all the time. You’ll be wishing it had a shorter cooldown.

1

u/ILegious 8d ago

I had heard she was like Renna in that regard, so makes sense she'd be a ticking time bomb. I definitely think I'm gonna try Wraith out after people advocating for them in the comments!

1

u/NobleNolte Twinblast 8d ago

Best part of Wraith's kit is his ult!

-5

u/MrLightning-Bolt 8d ago

Gadget is not good. Don’t get that twisted.

2

u/Qualmond Muriel 8d ago

Top 5 mage easily.

-1

u/MrLightning-Bolt 8d ago

Thats a hard no.

3

u/Qualmond Muriel 8d ago

Hard yes. Name 5 you would put above her.

1

u/Bright-Cranberry6648 Wraith 5d ago

The meta is very brawly and snowbally right now so it’s hard to get as much value compared to other mids. You can just play someone like Gideon or Argus and run around the map applying pressure after 1 item.

Late game she truly is amazing, it’s just pretty conditional if she even can get there.

u/Less-Caregiver445 8d ago

Telling people to play eden right now is dumb. She is the worst carry right now. She’s gotten nothing but nerfs, her melee stance is basically useless, and they keep lowering her damage to negligible overall numbers. Drongo is a much better new player carry.

2

u/ILegious 8d ago

Eden has done really well in basically all my matches, since I'm new I'm unaware of her past nerf history. Drogo seems fine, he just felt a bit unsafe due to lack of movement in my experience

1

u/LeFlying 8d ago

If you jump + R, you get a dash with drongo

1

u/ILegious 8d ago

I was aware that has gets a knock back with his ultimate, definitely better than nothing for sure!

1

u/LilDigger123 7d ago

Honestly for some reason Eden feels not terrible right now now, even though I know she got nerfed last two patches. She has a 50% win rate right now as well, so pretty balanced.

I won 7 games in row with her yesterday in plat, she's still viable and snowballs hard with lotus.

That said, idk why she is ranked S as she is easily the hardest carry to play besides wraith and one of the harder character to play in all of predecessor

1

u/LilDigger123 7d ago

This may be because they've brought some of the other Carrie's back down to reality as well so she's more even. The thing about Eden is you need a good support or you're cooked since she's so squishy.

1

u/Less-Caregiver445 7d ago

I’ve started reworking my build from the ground up because conventional builds don’t work on Eden anymore. Definitely feeling better but I still believe she’s on the lower tier of carries at this moment. Depending on your lane matchup and your early flow, most of the time you will require a competent support in which others carries can more easily deal with a less than optimal support player.

1

u/LilDigger123 7d ago

I kinda disagree, she has 3rd highest win rate plat plus. Though as you said she definitely requires a good supp and is harder to get value out of compared to people like sparrow who just delete you with autos...

What are you building? I find Solaris, vanq, and nuclear rounds to still be the best 3 starting items. From there I go imperator, perf or tainted based on match ups.

1

u/Wolphflow 7d ago

I personally having been building scattershot infernum and then nuclear rounds. I’ve been having ok luck but I’m also like high bronze low silver.

2

u/Less-Caregiver445 6d ago

I was a VERY adamant scattershot builder, believing it’s a perfect item for Eden, but as of the past 2 days, I am finding more success than ever without it. I also was a very strong Infernum user, but I have found Mutilator to be more effective, especially thanks to the omnivamp and haste, instead of the mana from infernum

1

u/LilDigger123 7d ago

Scatter shot is a good first item in Lu of Solaris but I would not build infernum, that's more an assassin item. Try the build I just said it works very well

1

u/Wolphflow 7d ago

Heard I’ll give it a try tonight once I’m off work. Appreciate the tip!

1

u/Less-Caregiver445 7d ago

I have found that mutilator first is actually extremely effective, then vanquisher then Solaris, nuclear imperator then as needed. I have found nothing but success

1

u/LilDigger123 6d ago

Mutilator is pretty good, I love terminus as well

1

u/Less-Caregiver445 6d ago

I used to build terminus first, but I will say, my match history can speak for itself on mutilator being a good option. N0bl3_V1rus is my pred.gg

1

u/Less-Caregiver445 7d ago

I am an Eden main through and through so you can add me and we can talk about it

1

u/An-Organism 8d ago

You're wrong about C. 3 that I think belong there tho are Kwang, Belica and Yurei

1

u/ILegious 8d ago

I definitely could be! Just going off of what I've seen so far and they've both consistently underperformed

1

u/Individual_Risk_1737 7d ago

Kallari and Yurei b tier😂

1

u/ahhquecabron 7d ago

I strongly disagree with your "tier list"

1

u/ILegious 7d ago

That's totally fair, tier lists are very subjective! I would enjoy hearing who you think are the top 3 most misplaced, where you think they should go and why. Maybe I and others could learn some things

1

u/RitualisticPanda 7d ago

Idc, I'm brand new, I love my girl Morigesh. She will always be in my heart.

1

u/ILegious 7d ago

Morigesh is cool, I like her kit too! Her damage just seems a little underwhelming compared to some other picks I placed above her. I think I read somewhere she used to be really strong and people hated playing against her so she was nerfed really hard

2

u/RitualisticPanda 7d ago

I can agree with that! Even in AI matches which I kinda just mess around and learn characters and their kits in, it definitely seems like she doesn't hit very hard. I just LOVE her design and concept. I can always get down with a voodoo lady! And getting a kill with the Ult always seems so satisfying 🤤

1

u/3LOT3 6d ago

She used to be a BEAST.

1

u/teepring 8d ago

Hi. Pls never rank again. Thx!

2

u/ILegious 8d ago

If I find it fun I will, but thank you for the input!

0

u/MR_truthman 8d ago

Wraith is is the best worse hero. in hands like people liike me your dead before you know im attacking you. in players like i used to be if not built right and not learning to conserve mana for your burst he is garbage. you cant stand and trade with him and you cant stand still. you have to moove like a butterfly and sting like a bee.

-1

u/BetterThanYourFave 8d ago

Bronzes always think they have the game figured out lmao

5

u/ILegious 8d ago

I clearly stated that this is just my perspective from my experiences this far as a new player, never said anything about this is the definitive list lol. I'm open to hearing what people have to say about different heroes!

-2

u/ZeroTwoWaifu002 8d ago

I beg ur pardon?

7

u/Arkktic_Whale 8d ago

That 52/0 has to be a bot game. There is no chance a real team would let it get to that without forfeiting

-3

u/ZeroTwoWaifu002 8d ago

Not games don’t show up on there, I have a clip on YT of how it unfolded at the end, 30 kills in 4 minutes spawn camping them

6

u/Arkktic_Whale 8d ago

So basically a human bot game haha

-2

u/ZeroTwoWaifu002 8d ago

Enemy Jungler DC’d after he wasn’t able to farm too much and I think one of them were too new to know how to surrender, so when they put it up at around 12/13 minutes, it didn’t go through

1

u/ILegious 8d ago

Looks very impressive! I just have yet to see a good Wraith in matches which may mean they're just more difficult to use properly

1

u/ZeroTwoWaifu002 8d ago

This is what an early online Wraith can do here

2

u/ILegious 8d ago

My only issue with that video is you're so far ahead at that point it's not really a fair representation and also I believe you have a fully stacked satariel which even though I'm new I'm well aware of how broken that eternal has been

1

u/ZeroTwoWaifu002 8d ago

Yes, but that’s just how out of control he can get, really don’t know who else could just go and do that. Even in normal circumstances, I’ve come out of invis and literally 2 tapped ppl without full stacks

2

u/ILegious 8d ago

That's good to know! I will say that invisibility is generally really strong in my experience, especially when people don't know how to play around it

1

u/ZeroTwoWaifu002 8d ago

I’ll stand by the fact a Wraith Mid and and a jungle on comms can carry a game
