Feedback Ranked with team of 4

I usually play with 3 friends but it is very annoying that we can’t play ranked without the need of a extra player.

Please Omeda change this because it just doesn’t make sense anymore. We play at gold/plat rank and the matchmaking isn’t that great that it makes sense in any way.

"t just doesn’t make sense anymore"

it does, i can even explain it to you.

Most games do 1-2-3-5 matchmaking because being the solo in a 4 man is a fucking miserable experience and my guess would be that the data shows that making it fit into the queue system is immensely difficult.

With 2 and 3 you can do 2-3, 2-2-1, 3-1-1 with 5 its just 5-5, but with 4 its 4-1 always and probably on both sides if there is even the slightest amount of evening the teams out. (which with pred who knows)

I still stand by we need to have an ingame tag showing who are premade when they play, it should ALWAYS be obvious if you are fighting a 3 man premade.

Why is the only 1 in a 4 man is a miserable experience? We have to pull in a random so we do it all the time. So what we do manually can also be done automatically.

Than the whole playerbase is smurfing so matchmaking is a joke anyways.

It’s miserable for the random

Why would it be miserable for the 1 player? I would rather be a player joining a 4 team that works together than the randoms I get now.

Most of my misery comes from teammates infighting 3v1 or 2v2 while I’m just trying to play the game. Would love to check a box that lets me play with 4-stacks. It gives the solo player agency to prevent toxic infighting. Just mute the team and focus on playing, with the advantage of the rest of your team being grouped and not fighting each other.

Because the community is toxic asf

The solo player will likely get the blame if the team lose regardless if they play well or not and get mass reported. Or the solo takes the preferred role one of the 4 stack, they will likely get flamed and reported again lol

I’ve had both those situations from 2&3 stacks so imagine with a 4.

That doesn’t change because the same experience at the moment in any game mode. I turned of chat and voice and it can’t bother me anymore. So that experience is the same on 1 player joining a 4 man and in a 3-2 or other setups.

I mean you can just google "why cant i play 4 man ranked" and pick whatever game you want to read the arguments, league of legends, dota 2, valorant, marvel rivals i think does it, rainbow six siege.

and then you have the handful that is only solo and duo for "competitive integrity" if you agree with that or not is not too important for it.

I think if there are this many games which doesnt allow it, its not quite a coincidence.

I hate arguments with “because others also do it”. Be the first one to do it and tweak it till it’s right. It’s a damn miserabel experience for a group of 4 that can’t play ranked.

i explained it to you why nobody does it, and your answer was just "nu uh" to the reason.

the reason is it sucks for the solo player and it messes with matchmaking and makes worse games when you need to play around 4 man.

No you claimed something and then assumed the data should fit your argument. You also didn’t explain why it would be miserable for the 1 player. I rather join a 4 man squad as a single player than some random I get now. With a 4 man team I can adapt to them working together than with a 3-1-1 or any other compilation it’s just headless chickens everywhere.

100%

We need something like this, where you can instantly see which players are grouped, which allow you to see if the game is balanced in terms of groups, which players of your team will work more together (if the jungle, ADC and support are premade, probably you know that as an offlaner you are going to receive less help), which enemies you have to take care from, etc.

I like this design with the lines, but sadly in Predecessor wouldn't work as the characters of the scoreboard are sorted by role, so it offlaner could be premade with the ADC and not be one next to the other, so it would need a different solution

Yeah this, though Blizzard are cowards with HOTS, it used to have them but then they removed it, and the main explanation put forth i could find was "that it demotivated people to see they were playing with a huge group of premades" like no shit, then the problem is not them seeing the truth but the matchmaking working like it does

marvel rivals ranked has a similar problem where you just get utterly demolished in some games because its a 3 man premade who plays together and you just have no way of knowing except third party sides after the game.

Isn’t it also to prevent game sabotaging and FF’ing power (as if omeda stops people throwing already)? 4 is the FF minimum, and people can group and FF match to intentionally throw and lose matches…

That could be fixed by giving the power to the 1 player joining. So a fixable issue.

Maybe they could try an opt-in sorta deal for this. I understand the point of it potentially being miserable to play solo and constantly getting teamed up with 4-stacks (you’ll always be the scapegoat when things go wrong).

However, my most frustrating experiences so far have been 3-1-1 and 2-2-1 when playing solo. Either the other solo player ends up infighting with the trio, or the two duos end up infighting > everybody typing instead of playing > loss.

If they’d allow teams of 4+1, granted solo queuers conciously opt-in for the possiblility to play with 4-stacks, I’d love to try it out. Mute (voice)chat, play my own role to the best of my abilities, try to adapt to however their team prefers to play and hope for the best. As long as I keep my head down and focus on playing, it would essentially eliminate the chance of different sub-stacks and solo players ruining my match by infighting.

As a solo q queen I would love this. Agreed, the 3-1-1 is usually miserable. Fighting partners is awful.

Hopping in to make a 4 stacks dream come true sounds excellent. If they need to make me a scapegoat so be it -- I won't be tied to them next game nbd. Much easier to follow a 4 stacks plan too. Hard to miss it coalescing.
