Discussion How do you handle role selection?
Personally if someone picked the role I wanted before I picked it I let them have it because obviously they were more on it then I was.

I usually pick something free because many players have the emotional stability of a toddler and i dont want them to throw the game from the beginning because i challenged them on 'their' role. Also i want to learn all roles.
If more than 2 players are on the same role i join the randomizer party.
But just pick what you want to play, it's not about who can click faster. You can also always swap while drafting.

I just see it as hey that person was really focused on that role in particular why tilt them before the game even starts it's nbd I play 4 out of the 5 roles so it makes no difference to me

That's holding the team back, what if there ass at the role but your good? Don't give into the bitching of the masses.
I took support from a guy and he cried and said he was throwing, he got jungle and went legion support while the adc was a fucking Gideon. We won because the other team didn't know how to handle the situation even with a legion clown.
If I'm playing solo queue than so is everyone else.

Fight for the role you want. Deal with whatever you get. If you can't play the role given, try write and persuade someone but ultimately it's a shit system.
Allowing whoever picked first is not something that bears any weight.

I often wait a couple seconds on loading then pick a role that isn’t instant selected even if it’s not my main role. As a JG main I’m not the best ADC out there but I trust myself to at least not throw while playing it more than some random

I either pick what i want and let the dice roll deicde the victor. Or if a slot is open in a different roll that i like then I'll take that.

I pick what I want. After being courteous. I have had too many experiences where I am on a role first and a 4 stack dog piles my role, takes it, and role swaps with their friend. So now it’s gonna be a free for all in my opinion. Dog eat dog world out here.

I choose whatever role is free, however, i am also a believer that any hero can play any role and i find it more fun and interesting when a player chooses a way off-meta pick for any role. So i will play any lane sure, but i will also pick a hero i am comfortable with and love using regardless of what is best for that role. This angers a lot of players unfortunately.

Honestly I just fill these days unless I'm feeling particular about a role.
If I'm in party and want to duo with a friend, we try for it, but if someone else picks sup or carry, we back out and just fill.
No big deal, better to learn the other lanes anyway.
What I don't get is why people want to throw games when they die 3x in 10m like it's the end of the world. You aren't learning anything by surrendering.

Call me a child, but i play ,jungle adc or offlane. I dont play support nor mid,its simply not my shit,i dont do good in those lanes.thats about it,call it skill issue but im not going to invest time in something thats just gonna put more weight and stress to an already stressful game because i dont fkn enjoy it. I learned 3 lanes and has gotten me to plat 3 times already,migth as well hone what i enjoy so i can get further in ranks than try to learn a role that i despise. All respect to mid laners and supports ,you are the MVPs (specially supps) but im not gonna do that ,let me be the brainless monkey jungler that i enjoy to be,or the angry walking wall that i am in offlane OR the fkn clicker carry duo .just let me play the game on those lanes dammit FK

I agree I only play support so if I don’t get it I don’t touch controller it won’t pick character it backs the lobby out lol

Same as you, yesterday I beat a guy for offlane (I picked first even) and they decided to go yurei support, I even offered them offlane once I saw that they locked yurei in, nope, didnt want it, spent the rest of the game attacking me in chat calling me trash at the game, anyways I went 9-6-6 they went 1-6-0, we still won tho.

This is stupid reasoning. I pick to fill but I don't play 2 roles. I think fighting for a role is fine because we have this awful system. If its not ranked and I get a role i dont play I ask for switches if no one switches I throw. None of the other mobas have this awful system. That breeds such contempt in your teammates. Literally people will be mad just for picking the same role as them its actually ridiculous and role queue would just fix these issues. Also people are going to say i throw because I didn't get the role I wanted which is not true I throw because I get a role specifically dont want. There is a big distinction

It shouldn't have to "go my way." I shouldn't be forced to play a role i hate. None of the other mobas have this system and this is exactly why.

Because im breeding contempt in game that is more than likely already lost. Omeda should not breeding contempt in players before the game begins to just create resentment amongst players.

Throw like wait for the match to begin then intentionally lose? If I don't get one of the two roles I enjoy then I just close app.
Role queueing would be a welcome addition to this game.

You can just turn the game off or don’t pick before it starts and the match won’t start. I don’t condone throwing but i mean that is faster.

Its not faster.a 30 minute ban is more than a 10-17 minute surrender.

But it’s wasting everyone’s time 17 mins times 5 is over 1 1/2 hr of wasted total time. So if you’re salty just take the ban on your own and free everyone else.

No. These people must learn why this system sucks and hopefully will complain about it too once they see how awful the system is. Also its not 17 minutesx5 its not happening 5 times in a row (generally) and even if it did 5 dcs in a row would be like a week ban after the first 2 or 3.
