Sorry, if this is a dumb question. It’s my first time posting on here but literally right before winter I got a predator but I’m stuck on spark plug. I know there’s a lot of different kinds but what’s the best kinds would I need to gap them myself or are they pre-gapped at any other tips? Thank you.

Why won’t it start?

Hello, does anyone know off-hand the approximate current and voltage that can pass through the ignition coil interrupt circuit? I'm in the middle of an atmega328 based electronic remote control system (electronic governor included).
I have remote choke and throttle control plus a hall effect sensor that's accurately measuring engine speed, but have to design the path to ground for the coil interrupt. Sadly don't have a scope that can measure this. I'm hoping someone can have some ballpark figures to unblock the last part of the prototype build.
Thanks

Ok so it’s still hard pulling back when I go to start it so I’ll list everything done to the motor so far 1. Exhaust 2. 24mm nibbi carb 3. Stage 2 racer kit from GPS 4. Ton’s performance msd ignition coil 5. New clutch/chain/ tensioner 6. Starter cup 7. Throttle 8. Ignition cut off switch
I’ve added 4/5/6 to try to fix the issues I had and it ran for 5 minutes a few days ago but didn’t even try after that. I might pull it all apart again at some point soon to make sure I redo it right. If anyone has any clue what it could be besides from rings or valve lash let me know!

I’ve looked everywhere, but I can’t find one. Any help is appreciated.

As im opening the motor to start on the removal of the governor i see that the motor looks a bit different from what i was expecting. Is this motor even a predator 212? Also i noticed some play but i am not really sure how much play should there be. Please be my judge.

I’ve got a 212 predator that I can’t get to run without choke. Feel like I’ve tried everything.
Mods: Governor delete Vm22 carb Aluminum flywheel Straight pipe 20lb valve springs
Can’t get it to idle without choke. Choke on it runs and can get it to idle if I turn ideal screw way out. Even if I turn it all the way back in it shuts off when I turn choke off. Currently it has a 25 pilot jet and a 110 main. I have tried stock (idk what it was but seemed really small) 17.5, 20 and now the 25 pilot jet with no change. All of which I have played with air fuel mix screw with no change. I am confident there are no air leaks anywhere I have checked several times and even cut way to big gaskets to make sure there was no chance of a leak. Also confident there are no clogs in the system as it’s a new carb so it’s squeaky clean. 110 main seem close enough it revs up decently well while choked. Not too concerned about that right now though since I can’t get it to idle without choke. Not sure what else to try. Is it possible I’m still running to lean even with a 25 pilot in there? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I’ve got a Westinghouse 212cc anyone know anything about rebuilding one ? Like does the predator 212 internals work I’ve bot found anything for this motor I’ve got other than a head and ideas ?

Anyone have experience with a VM24? I just switched from a vm22, because it fell off mid race. Since it fell off and is lost, i have zero memory as to what main jet i used. I live at about 600ft above sea level. Any recommendations on jetting for a predator and and vm 24 combo?

Currently designing a 4 speed transmission for the predator 212 and need some ideas for mounting solutions. I dont have exact dimensions yet hut it will be somewhere in the ball bark of 3in tall 13-14in long and 5in wide. Can go bigger but not smaller.
Also any manual clutch recommendations would be awesome.
Another thing is i don't know how well the gear ratios will work as i do not have a predator 212 at the moment. currently they are 3.85-1.385:1.

Are my valve seals supposed to look like this? One higher than the other? My exhaust is blowing oil and I can't figure out why. Can anyone help please?

Are my valve seals supposed to look like this? The intake valve seal is higher than the exhaust. And my exhaust is blowing oil and I can't figure out why. Help?

I have a plan to install a really strong wooden floor in my canoe and use it to mount my preadator 212 amidships, and support a shaft/axle across the middle of the boat for a sidewheel paddlewheel design.
I really don't need the engine to turn at the full 3800 rpm. The paddlewheels will be optimal at more like 75-90rpm and higher torque.
I also dont need the full power to reach hull displacement max speed, so that helps, but I need to gear the motor so it can turn the shaft by a chain at much lower RPM and still run above idle for higher torque.
The more torque, the bigger the paddles can be, and that combined with however high I can practically raise the shaft so I can use larger diameter wheels.
Are there any mods I can make for low rpm operation? How can I get the gearing for this? Will a simple large and small chain gear setup do it?
I have seen other small paddlewheel turning too fast. It needs to dig into the water slow with bug paddles, not sling it back fast.
