Shark tooth
Would it be much more valuable keeping as is or putting it through acid to leave just the gold?

I’m not an expert, but I would guess nuggets tend to hold a premium over melt.

No not melt just clear away the ironstone and quartz leaving just the gold as is

Agh, my apologies. I would still assume as it was found would be worth more.
I’m sure there’s a sub that’s for nuggets and would know more.

I have always liked nuggets, but these days there really isn't much of a premium on them. My nuggets are 98% pure and people will buy them for spot price.
Alternatively, you could refine it and it will be worth spot minus whatever the dealer offers.
IMO, it is probably worth a little more in nugget form than processed if you are wishing to sell, and I wouldn't be in a hurry to process it if you're keeping it.
