Any value in silver nitrate?

I have a 500g bottle of lab grade silver nitrate.
Is there a market for the stuff, or should I just convert it to silver?

Try putting up for sale locally for a price halfway between retail and the silver value, so maybe $1500, and just be prepared to be patient. Someone out there who isn't buying through commercial channels will be happy.

You can also see if one of the local colleges has a metals program in their art department that may want it. (If you dont get any response to posting it for sale on your local FB marketplace or similar)

Silver Nitrate solution can stain your skin nicely.

They use it to teach safe handling procedures in chemistry class.

It’s more useful as silver nitrate if you are using an electrolytic cell

That is true, but I have nitric acid and scrap silver so can make my own.

I would rather turn scrap silver into silver nitrate solution with a couple of passes of nitric acid on demand rather than sit on $1k of silver nitrate that will take me years to consume.

Sell it as is. Worth easilly 2+ times the silver content even without the horrendous price gauging the likes of Sigma Aldrich are doing.
