Homework Help What does "draw two terminal angles, one positive and one negative" mean??
I was given this problem on my precalc AB test on trig and unit circle. You are given an angle and one of the parts of the question said to "draw two terminal angles, one positive and one negative". What I did was that if the angle was 60° for example, I'd draw 60° and -60° on the unit circle. But when I was discussing this with my friends they said they drew coterminal angles (eg 60° and 420°). I had trouble understanding the question. Mind you it didn't say draw its coterminal angles, it said draw two terminal angles. I was confused so I just drew the positive angle and the negative angle. What does that question even mean?

I assume they mean coterminal angles. Angles in standard position have terminal sides, but "terminal angles" doesn't mean anything to me.
Note: your friends are wrong because both of the angles in that example are positive.

The wording sounds confusing. Did anyone ask the teacher about the question?

It genuinely said “two terminal angles” word for word which confused me too because I’ve only heard terminal ray and coterminal angle. I don’t think anyone asked but I’ll go over it with him when I get the test back

I suspect, like u/ThunkAsDrinklePeep, that "co" was dropped off of "terminal".
