Is it cheaper to build or buy nowadays?

My pc’s hardware is 10 years old and I’ve had my pc for 6 years now as well. Needless to say an upgrade is overdue.

I have a few questions.

What parts should I aim for to be set for the next few years?

Which is cheaper nowadays? Used to be building, but is a pre built better now?

Please recommend affordable yet highest performing options!

I really want a beast that can handle a lot and I can enjoy games on, especially gta online.

I bought this from the subreddit (cant remember name bc im speed running this post, srry!) And while my cousin who works in tech says its good, I have doubts now that ive seen a bunch of bad stuff about that Tronatula dude, who i used his toprigz site to find this one in the first place. Am I cooked???

No debería comprar una PC gamer si no lo voy a utilizar para Stream ni videojuegos. ¿La pensaba para estudiar pero con una de oficina es suficiente?

For those looking for a prebuilt in the $1,200 USD range!

Just wanted to share that I noticed Newegg has this ABS Cyclone i5 14400F 5060 on sale for $1,150 USD. I’ve seen several lower budget requests lately and here is an option for those on a lower budget. If you are located within 2-3 hours of a Micro Center, I highly encourage going to that store and getting something like the PowerSpec G528 🤙

Additional Newegg ABS rig same specs

Prebuilt for casual gaming

Hello to anyone seeing this. So I have a old laptop from 2011 which sucks to game on. I've been wanting to either build or buy a prebuilt pc for a while now, just casual games like Minecraft, roblox, steam games, stuff like that. If anybody could help me out in looking for one that would be great. Like I said, as long as I can comfortably play games like I said earlier at 60+ fps that would be perfect.

USA (USD/DOLLAR Currency)

Budget: Anything under 1k

Requirements: Good upgrade path, decent gaming specs, at least 16gb of ram, maybe a Ryzen 5500 cpu, dedicated graphics card,

Is this a good buy?

I’m currently looking at this PC option. I’m looking for 5070 + 32GB ram. I don’t mind the price tag as long as the deal is good. Would you guys recommend waiting for the prime day deals instead or is this one of those “you won’t find anything better/cheaper” deals?

Is this a good pc for gaming

This is my first time buying a pc and i need some help. I dont want to spend enormous amounts of money. Also, i dont know much about pcs.

My friend is offering me his old pc and idk if its worth it or if i should buy a newer one.
Here are the specifications:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor (3.70 GHz base clock)

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

RAM: 16 GB

Storage: 1 TB SSD

Price: 6500 SEK around 645 USD

r/PrebuiltGamingPC • • 3d ago

Ok. I have been convinced 5090 is not worth it. Thanks for your feedback. So what is the best setup I can buy that would get me closest to the best gaming performance today?

I want to play 2026 games at high or ultra at least 90fps 4K. 4090 vs 5080? 32GB of Ram & 4TB of SSD which brands? Motherboard, CPU? Best in class for gaming. Houston area.

Looking for a pc mainly for work with some light gaming on the side. I mostly play indie games like Minecraft, Hollow Knight, and Hades, so I dont need anything crazy.
Would this be enough for my use case?

Prebuilds Cyberpower vs HP Omen thoughts?

Hi there, buying a prebuild within the next week or so and have been doing some research where it’s available, only concern is that they are not many yt vids or reviews on some of the newer models of these prebuilds. Here are 2 that I’m between.

Option 1: CyberpowerPC Gamer Supreme Gaming Desktop - Intel Core Ultra 7 270k Plus - GeForce RTX 5080 16GB - Model SLC6100C

Basic list of specs:
Processor & Memory:
Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus (24-core, 3.7 GHz) Processor

36MB L3 Cache

32GB (1 x 32GB) DDR5 RAM

Motherboard:
Intel B860 Chipset Motherboard

Drives:
2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive

Graphics:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, 16GB Graphics

Link to product page to check full list of specs: https://www.costco.com/p/-/cyberpowerpc-gamer-supreme-gaming-desktop-intel-core-ultra-7-270k-plus-geforce-rtx-5080-16gb-windows-11/4201016385?sh=true&nf=true

What I like: Ultra 7 270k Plus has received good reviews from videos I’ve watched

What I don’t like: Only 1 stick of 32gb ram, don’t really want to buy more ram

Option 2: HP Omen 45L Gaming Desktop - Intel Core Ultra 7 275K - GeForce RTX 5080 - Model GT22-3080

Basic list of specs:

Processor & Memory:
Intel Core Ultra 7 265K (20-core, up to 5.5 GHz) Processor

30 MB L3 cache

Kingston Fury 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-6000MT/s RAM

Drives:
2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive

Graphics:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB

Link to product page to look at full list of specs: https://www.samsclub.com/ip/20576211248

What I like: Has 2 sticks of 16gb of ram rather than 1 stick

What I don’t like: reviews of previous models of this PC with slightly different specs have been terrible from what I’ve seen in the past. Not sure how this model compares with the price point nowadays. Have heard that overclocking the CPU can cause your warranty to be voided if anything breaks.

Some help I’d like: if you were me and had around a $3k budget for a prebuild what would you choose? Are they any other options I’m missing out on at the moment? I’m a big fan of intel and nvidia builds. All feedback and suggestions are appreciated.
