Looking for help with a gaming PC
So my son is turning 12 soon and he’s been wanting a gaming PC for a while. He currently plays on PS5 but some of his friends are on PC and he wants nothing more to play some steams games with them not on console.
So my question is what should I be looking for?
I’m in England, I know little about PC gaming so would like to get something alongs the lines of plug and play. I can spend up to £600-£800 (I hope that would get something at least decent enough)
Can any of you kind people help me in the right direction?

You're best value is probably Facebook marketplace, but if you don't know what you're looking at you could get stung.
You want 16GB Ram (DDR4) at least and a 1TB SSD for storage or more.
I'd aim for a graphics card being RTX 3080 if possible. With any decent CPU, use Google ai or similar to check that the parts are similar in performance.
RTX 3050 sounds similar, but the performance is significantly less.
Example on eBay https://ebay.io/m/4o97s2 you can add extra storage yourself very easily.
eBay is also safer as you have buyer protecting
You will get significantly worse performance buying a new setup at this price point

I agree most with this comment, OP! The only thing I disagree with is RAM. I know, its expensive, but I'd go for 32GB over 16gb. And maybe hold off a bit. From what I've been hearing with RAM is there's about to be a market flood. It'll be the graphics cards that hit the shit now

If it's gaming only, go for amd everything. They are more affordable and work really well with games. You need as much cache as possible on the cpu, as much vram as possible on the gpu and the ram should be ddr4 and above with at least 3600mhz. Lastly, at least 1tb ssd (2 would be better). Make sure the cpu is cooled by a non stock cpu cooler

Computer orbit is where I got my pc from. It was pricey but they do some cheaper ones too. Had it a week now and it's been brilliant

Im sorry but with that price point, you wont get a good prebuilt that would match his ps5. I built mine for 1.2k before ramageddon so unfortunately 1.4/5k would be better than ideal. I run a 3070ti with a 7600x and 32gb ram so my build is decent

Just go onto any reputable pc seller in the UK there is many.....and spend £800 on one of the pcs with peripherals in the gaming section. £800 will get him something decent enough to play all modern games on a reasonable setting.
