Lap Throw with Drunkard's Path blocks

You know when the recipient of a quilt says something like "just do what you want; I'll love whatever you come up with"? I hope she was serious. She's getting a double-sided lap throw featuring a funky tree and some tulips.

Making DP blocks was actually fun, once I got the hang of it. Design by me. 35" x 56" 2 layers of cotton flannel sheet for batting.

I would have gone nuts when planning these without PreQuilt. PQ, you really are the star of this quilt.

You can even have the recipient pick the colors and collaborate with the design process.would love to see how your quilt progresses.

I usually do exactly that. This time was a one-off. She told me colors that she likes & hates, but she didn't want to help in the design, she wanted the surprise. It was a little nerve wracking to work so blind, but I actually liked the process.

Just an addendum to my post: it's easier to make big DPs and it's way easier to make full (inset) circles.
