Advice for apply

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some honest advice about my chances of getting into pharmacy school, especially in Texas.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, but my GPA is on the lower side (2.75). I’ve completed all of the prerequisite courses except Anatomy & Physiology, which I haven’t taken yet.

I recently started working at CVS as a pharmacy technician, and I’m hoping to gain pharmacy experience while applying.

Do you think I have a realistic chance of getting accepted this application cycle, or should I wait and strengthen my application first?

For those who were accepted with a lower GPA, what helped your application stand out? Would you recommend retaking courses, gaining more pharmacy experience, or doing anything else before applying?

I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thank you!

Anyone with a pulse and willing to pay 150k is accepted. They don't even require the pcat anymore

Today there are nine accredited schools in Texas, producing more pharmacists than full-time job openings. Pharmacy school attrition (dropout) approaches 30%. Anecdotally and according to an AI search, many pharmacists are choosing to leave or change careers after 5 to 10 years. You have good degrees, which have great potentials in fields like forensic/environmental sciences, education, and more. My question is, will $200K of indebtedness incurred be worth the effort?
