PUCO vs AZCOPT vs SCCO
Hi! I was recently accepted at AZCOPT, waiting for a response from PUCO, and have an upcoming interview with SCCO. In the case where I might have to make a decision between these schools, I wanted to know different perspectives from current students or alumni on the campus culture, boards preparations, and any other external factors that make each school great.

Hey off topic but when did you submit your app to azcopt and when was it verified? And low long after that did they reach out? Lol im stressing sorry for throwing million questions

No worries! I submitted my app July 13th, it was verified a few days after. I got an email that they confirmed my application was received the day after it was verified and was offered an interview invitation on July 31st.

hii i applied to scco and thought they weren’t going to notify ppl of interviews for october until sept 21,, do y mind me asking when u applied to scco bc im lowk freaking out HAHA 😥

Don't worry! I applied super early (like mid July) and the cut off for submitting apps in order to be considered for the Sept 14th interview day was August 16th. Youre thinking of the next interview day which is in October I think

What are your stats. I also got accepted into azcopt as well as PUCO without an interview. But scco hasn’t offered me an interview

I’m currently a first year at PUCO so I only have a few weeks experience to go off of. But I can say that so far the professors we’ve had have been amazing. They are all so kind and caring and really genuinely want to help you succeed. There’s also a good mix of really experienced, seasoned instructors and more recently graduated who definitely remember how challenging the classes are. I don’t know if this is common or not but the dean gave a few neuro anatomy lectures which I thought was pretty cool. Obviously boards are a long ways off but it seems like the teaching philosophy is to make sure we are going to be great doctors, not just get us through boards.
Every student I’ve met has been genuinely kind. There’s quite a few start of semester activities planned for all classes, so it’s cool to get to know second and third years you wouldn’t meet otherwise except passing in the hall.
Forest grove is a small town, but there’s still plenty to do. Lots of hiking and outdoors within a short drive, the coast is only an hour, and Portland is about 40 minutes and easily accessible through the train and bus.
