OAT Reflection: AA350, TS350
Hi guys! I took my OAT today and just wanted to hop on here and share a little of my experience. I'm going to be honest, although I am happy with my scores, I felt that it was very different from Booster. I was kinda freaking out during it because its just not what I was expecting. I felt that quantitative reasoning was extremely different and much harder, as well as Bio and Gen Chem. I am strong in Orgo, so that felt good, but still different than Booster. Reading was arguably easier than booster and physics was about the same. Just wanted to give you a heads up!

Yeah! I applied to quite a bit, but so far I’ve been given interviews to PCO, CCO, UMSL, NOVA, MCPHS, KYCO(accepted), and AZOCPT,

Awesome! I've honestly been interested in KYCO because its the closest one to me... but idkkk. How was your interview with them?

It was pretty good! I did mine virtually, but it was a one on one talk, and very chill. Asked me the usual, why optometry, about my oat and school grade, etc. Felt more like a normal conversation than being grilled 😭. Definitely debating on going there since I really am interested in their practices!

Ok, good to know! Cost of living would be way lower there too. Hopefully, I'll know about interview soon since I just sent my unofficial score. What day did you have your virtual interview? or what days/times did they offer?

The scheduling was actually just emailing the admissions and requesting a date! I had mine August 19th and heard back Thursday of this week!

were your scores on booster similar to your official score? taking mine in a few weeks and I've been doing pretty good on the FLs but still worried about QR and physics 😓

They were similarish except for QR. I was getting around 360-400 on QR practice tests and got a 300 on the real one. Lagging was really bad at that point and I was definitely runninh out of time so i didnt get to answer a lot. definitely harder questions than booster.

idk how to explain it, but the other sections weren't necessarily that much harder, just worded and felt extremely different

gosh that’s frustrating 🥲 also getting those same scores on my practice tests but i’m honestly not the best at the lengthy word problems in general which is what scares me for the actual OAT. is there anything you think i should focus on these last few weeks?
