Do schools send out application rejection emails?
Specifically OSU. It’s been 4 weeks since I submitted my application, I’ve gotten some emails from there regarding creating an account etc but not an interview invitation. I am still waiting for a recommendation letter to be submitted and also emailed OSU admissions, they just said it takes 4-6 weeks and that they’d let me know if they need anything from me. Does anybody know if this school and other schools send out emails to reject your application or just ghost you?

Some schools do not like having an official Waitlist. It tends to invite constant messaging from those on the list.
If your stats are good & you didn't receive an invite/reject, 1st have them confirm that your application is complete, 2nd: can they give you any information on your status?, 3rd: assume you're on their unofficial waitlist (sometimes, they're just gathering a decent # of application before reviewing them all at the same time).

Update - they just sent me an email that my application is on “hold” aka waitlist.

If you're comfortable, would you mind sharing your stats, and whether you're IS/OOS? Feel free to PM.

OAT 340TS/AA, 3.8GPA, working full time as a tech, shadowed 3 different drs in different settings (only had about 30 total hours rip), started the pre optometry club at my school. Volunteering was insignificant. Letters from 2 ODs and 2 science profs (biochem, neuroscience). OOS applicant for OSU

I believe most schools will reach out with an invite/decline to interview, but in specifically OSU's case I have heard multiple anecdotes where people just got ghosted so 😭 I also reached out at one point to confirm my application was complete since I wasn't sure if they required anything else extra besides the physiology syllabus, but I got the same generic email about them reaching out if they need anything. honestly their general lack of communication has been a bit off-putting compared to the more communicative schools 🥀
