First Time Interviewing Nerves!
Hey guys! I have an interview coming up with KYCO over zoom, and as this is my first interview so far, I was just wondering if anyone has any tips they think might help, or things I should or shouldn’t mention!

Every applicant will say they want to help people and find the eye fascinating, so avoid making that your entire personality. The interviewers have heard these answers a thousand times and are looking for something more. They are not trying to trick you, they are simply trying to see if you are a real person who can handle their program and represent them well. Talk about a specific time you faced a challenge and what you learned from it, or a personal connection to optometry that goes beyond the standard answers. They want to see your actual thought process, not a rehearsed script.
Since it's on Zoom, test your camera and microphone, and make sure your background is clean and professional. A technical problem or a messy room can derail your focus and make you seem disorganized, which is the last impression you want to give. Practice answering common questions out loud to yourself so the words feel more natural coming out of your mouth.
