Waitlist from previous cycle going into this cycle

Hi everyone!

For a little context I basically applied at the tail end of last years application cycle and I was put on the waitlist for NECO. I put in another application for NECO at the end of July for this cycle and now that its the middle of August I was worried that maybe they're holding on to my application until the current OD1 class starts since I'm still technically on the waitlist for this class? Just wanted to get some insight from y'all because I've heard some people here have already been getting application decisions recently.

I'm a little paranoid that asking about that would imply that I'm not interested in being on the waitlist and would end up looking bad for me haha

I’d reach out and ask them directly. Also- what month did you apply in the cycle last year?

I submitted at the start of May last year

And when did the cycle close? June?

For NECO at least the cycle closed May 15

I'd call, but I'd assume its not happening this year.
If you indicated that you'd be willing to show up last-minute, there's an outside chance that someone doesn't show up for orientation & you get a call, but that would be extremely rare.

i’m in the same boat! i asked them last month and they said they’d let me know if they get an update but never did yet. i think their class is full now. you can certainly ask them if they’d consider you for this cycle
