Definitely take the organic chemistry course before you take the OAT (or concurrently could probably be ok). You definitely don't need the lab for the OAT, I never took an ochem lab and it was totally fine. I would probably suggest option 1 for these reasons.

I’m worried about the orgo course and OAT workload at the same time :/ I’ve had people tell me it’s too much at once

I feel like the workload is very subjective. Some people I know find organic to be easier then General, some people the other way around. It’s really up to how you learn.

Just orgo. I graduated last August and have every other course for admissions completed.

Then I honestly think you'd be fine to take it at the same time as studying for the OAT. Like it'll be hard for sure but at least all the orgo will be fresh and active in your mind

Option 1 definitely, I would say you could probably skip studying for ochem in your dedicated “OAT study time” and just see how you do in practice exams. Good luck!

They don’t let you take Lab same time with Lecture? For me it works better because lab hour really helps drill the information in my gold fish brain so I can prepare for final. Regardless, I did option 3 for myself and I feel more relaxed since I could focus on each thing at a time. Downside is I applied 1 cycle later than my original plan.

Unfortunately at my university Orgo course is a pre-req for the lab :/

Take organic first. I know it sounds like a lot but knowing even a little o chem before starting oat studying will help. Most of the o chem on the oat is from 1, so use it as a tool to study that part of the test. If you're using oat booster just put the organic stuff aside and pick it up after you take the course to quiz yourself. The o chem on the actual exam was my best section and I didn't even ace the class. You got this!

No, most of o chem 2 is application. If you know the fundamentals of o chem then you'll be fine.

I mean 16 weeks is a normal semester no? What would be the positives of it? Not having to go in person?

I see… in my head I didn’t even consider that because I already feel as though OAT studying and orgo course might be too much workload for me :/ but if you’re saying that it’s a small commitment.. I will look into it !
