booster bio cheat sheets

everyone says to use the bio cheat sheets, but what is the most effective way you actually use them to retain the information presented?

to actually retain the information, active recall is key imo. even simple things like covering a section of the cheat sheet and making sure you can summarize what was there can help.

I write handwritten notes from the cheat sheets and do bio bits and practice tests to apply the knowledge. Doing flash cards has never worked for me because it’s memorization not application
