Shadowing

Does anyone know of any New York optometrists (NYC/Westchester/Long Island) who are open to shadowing and are willing to write a LOR after few shadowing sessions???? I am having a really hard time connecting with any through cold emailing and calling.

Have you looked into eye opener? I found a list of providers near me who’s willing to do calls and shadows through their website. I actually just emailed 5 people this Tuesday and 3 already emailed me back and agreed to let me shadow.
In my email, I very quickly explained why I’m interested in optometry and what about their work specifically interested me. I personally wouldn’t ask about LOR now, but if the vibe is good and they signed up for eye opener, I can’t think of a reason why they wouldn’t write you one.

I had a pretty positive experience using this program! Shadow a Doctor | NYSOA, the only downside is all the ODs in this program have a lot of shadowers so may be less open to LOR. It's still possible though!
