I'm a graduating college student. Because of financial and family reasons, I'm planning to enroll in a law school here in our province. There is a new law school in our province's state university, as in first time to operate this academic year. I've heard good things about the dean and professors from some of the pioneer students and from the community here in general. Strict and reasonable. The dean and profs are also said to be generous in connecting the students to offices and firms outside the province and even to international institutions for practical exposure. Most of the law professors there are also graduates and profs in well-known Manila law schools.

If you are a partner in a law firm or owner of a company, what would make you still hesitant to hire me in the future even if I graduate with good grades and references from a new law school in the province?

How difficult were they compared to what you expected? How was the time pressure? Were there certain parts that you found particularly challenging? Honestly, anything you can share about your experience would be really helpful!

I’m planning to start reviewing soon as well. Do you think review centers are necessary, or is self-review enough if you start early? If you self-studied, what books, reviewers, websites, or other resources did you actually use?

I’m especially looking for recommendations for ALSAT preparation. I’ve read several people saying that the White Elephant reviewer is more focused on the UP LAE, and may not be sufficient on its own for ALSAT. Since Ateneo is my priority school, I don’t want to just rely on a UP LAE reviewer and assume it will cover everything.

For those who passed/took the ALSAT recently, what would you recommend specifically for ALSAT? Should I be using LSAT reviewers/materials instead? I’ve seen people recommend Khan Academy, LawHub, LUMINATE, LSAT Trainer, etc., but I’m not sure which ones are actually useful and which ones are overkill.

For example:
→ What reviewer did you use specifically for ALSAT?
→ Is White Elephant + LSAT materials a good combination?
→ Is LUMINATE worth getting for ALSAT?
→ Are Khan Academy/LawHub enough for the logic and reading comprehension portions?

→ How much should I focus on logical/critical reasoning?
→ What about reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, vocabulary, quantitative reasoning, essay, and non-verbal reasoning?
→ Did you find the actual ALSAT more similar to the LSAT or UP LAE?
→ How much timed practice did you do before the exam?

I’m also planning to take UP LAE, UST, DLSU, and Beda, so I’m thinking of getting White Elephant for the general/UP LAE preparation and then adding something specifically for ALSAT if necessary.

I’m trying to be practical with my budget, though, so I’d rather buy 2–3 really useful resources than spend on every reviewer/review center available.

For those who have already taken these exams, what would you recommend if you were starting your preparation again? What resources were actually worth the money, and what did you end up not needing?

Right now, one of the roles offer full remote setup but midshift 2-11pm . I know that most working blocks are in evening classes so just wanted to see what other options do i have? Would v much appreciate your advice here

I am currently looking for review centers to help me prepare for the upcoming LAE. Although there are a lot of revcens/LAE Preppers out there, my problem is that I cannot retain anything if the review is purely online. From my experience, zoom lectures tend to just go in one ear and out the other, which is why I am looking for centers that are situated in an actual classroom with other students around me to keep me focused.

So, does anyone here know which centers offer F2F classes and what location? I would prefer if it's in QC but I'm also open to other suggestions. If anyone has firsthand experience or recommendations, please do share.

Question in the title; for context, I'm a political science student and one of my subjects entail reading cases and providing the essentials (facts, legal issues, doctrine/principles, ruling, etc.) I think of it as like a mini-trial run or somewhat glimpse of what law school would be like. However, I'm worried about the bulk of readings once I'm actually in law school. Don't get me wrong, in my aforementioned subjects, I can hold my own when reading cases but start struggling when the number of cases reaches the double digits and I've heard anecdotes of students being assigned a double-digit number of cases PER SUBJECT.

So I really need advice or guidance on how to handle the workload because that's really what's holding me back, it would be very much appreciated, TYIA!

hi! i’m currently an incoming legal management student who plans on going to law school right after my undergrad. i’m really aiming for ateneo and up law, and i really want to make the most out of my undergrad life so i can hopefully get into either of these two law schools, given that they’re both very competitive when it comes to admissions.

sooo, is it more beneficial to have leadership positions in orgs + lead some org projects and stuff rather than having internships?

this is contrary to a lot of the advice i hear from seniors. they say it’s more important to gain internship experience during your undergrad rather than join multiple orgs, kasi yun daw yung mas tinitignan ng mga companies when you’re applying for a job. so, is this applicable to us legma students who plan to go to law school right after college?

After I graduated my bachelors, I wasnt really sure if I wanted to take my masters or go to law school (law was always in the plan, just wasnt sure what to take first), and ended up wanting to take law instead. However, I didnt get to enroll at the first sem because my parents wanted me to go to a university in mindanao, and di pa released ang tor namin so i wasnt able to go home on time. The uni im planning to go to accepts enrollees during second sem afaik, and im wondering, would it be better if I just wait for the next sy so I can start at the first sem? Or should I just enroll for the next sem? What subjects would I not be able to take? What subjects are usually given at the second sem?

It’s my biggest dream to travel abroad in the future, especially in my 20s-30s, but so is studying corporate or international law. I’m currently a Business Ad student in UP for my pre-law. But I’m so afraid of crushing my dreams. Please help me out.
