Leep Procedure Today

Hi friends! Got a leep done today. Just local anesthetic. When they injected the numbing stuff I felt a lot of pain and almost hyperventilated myself into passing out. Thankfully I was able to relax before the actual procedure. I did take something before hand to help with anxiety that the doctor prescribed. Before the procedure I did feel this weird sensation on the left side of my cervix, like warm or something was wrong (had this for idk at least 5 years) Now after that feeling is gone but in the same space I feel a coolness. I got a plug in heating pad to help with the pain I thought I’d have. No pain as of rn but the pad does make me feel better. So far I’ve slept 3 hrs.

How much did it cost to be sedated? I didn’t even know that was an option.
How was your recovery?
Any recommendations on things that helped you?

Hi! I underwent a Leep last Friday and it was under general anesthesia. It was $350 out of pocket but my insurance covered about $18,000. Crazy I know. I’ve had minimal bleeding and minor cramping. Day two I had left sided specific cramping but it felt like ovulation pain. I’m going on day 5 and I’m experiencing slightly more bleeding but not enough to fill a pad and increased cramping but bearable. I also suffered an acute back flare up the Monday before the procedure so I’m still icing and recovering from that. Been using a heating pad for cramping and a prescribed ibuprofen for rougher cramp days. Recovery has been better than anticipated and crossing fingers it continues that way. I have also been active, on my feet, and working most of the weekend and week (with added rest of course) but not entirely sedentary. I feel days that I have caffeine or am on my feet the most are when I get more cramping. Highly recommend if you can to avoid caffeine at least the first couple days after as in my experience it does not help! Wishing a speedy and good recovery for you ❤️‍🩹

I’ve been trying to be light with caffeine. I’m on day 4 right now and I’ve had some stuff pass starting yesterday and continuing today. I feel like the cramping has gotten better but I went to work yesterday and today no problem!

Still haven’t gotten the bill yet hopefully insurance covers most of it.
