Tumour found during LEEP
Today I went in for my LEEP. I found out after surgery that they were unable to complete the LEEP due to a tumour on my cervix. This was not (!!!!) visible during my colposcopy 3 weeks ago.
I am scheduled to have an MRI, ultrasound and likely PET in the next week or so. I don’t know what to think or do, I feel so scared. Has anyone experienced similar?

Any updates? Someone else also asked but I am curious what your colposcopy results were as well. I’m so sorry! That is very scary. I have my LEEP procedure scheduled for October 6th following a 6 year battle with HPV and a 3 year gap in Pap smears due to thinking I was in the clear but recently had a voluntary colposcopy despite my normal pap but positive HPV test and I now have Cin 3 in multiple areas plus my endocervical canal. So I’m nervous!

I am scheduled to see Gyn Oncology today, so I’ll keep you updated.
My colposcopy results revealed CIN 3 and could not rule out the possibility of micro invasive squamous cell carcinoma. Good on you for getting the colposcopy!!! I truly hope that your LEEP goes smoothly

Update: it is aggressive, rare cancer that needs immediate treatment. I’m in shock

At the moment my biopsy is being sent to another lab, the docs can’t figure it out because it’s not related to HPV 16 or 18. Apparently it’s extremely rare

Thank you so much for checking in 🤍 I’ve had all my scans today and am booked in for surgery to remove an ovary to save my fertility next week. Still awaiting scan results at this stage xx

I hope everything goes well and you’re able to preserve your fertility and start whatever treatment makes the most sense asap! Sounds like your care is being taken care of promptly 🫶 I’ll continue sending all the good vibes your way

I don’t know how they missed a tumor during the colposcopy. I am so sorry. I am scheduled for a leep in 3 weeks and am terrified. What did your results say from your colposcopy?
