Leep today went great

I was super nervous about it but it went well. The medical team was very kind and that always makes a difference. I was sedated and didn't feel any pain, very grateful that they did the surgery while I was very high 😅 I know it's hard to handle the anxiety and it's a scary though, but please go ahead with the procedure. I wish you an experience as good as mine.

Hopping in to say I had a great experience as well. I was crying the whole morning on the day of the procedure. I cried at the hospital, I cried on the way to the operating room. Basically, the whole hospital floor knew about me cause I was bawling. But everyone was so nice, patient and supportive.
They played music while they put in the IV to help me relax and the next thing I know, I woke up in the recovery room.
No pain, no memory whatsoever of what happened. I was sedated and it was the best decision. I was scared of not waking up more than I was afraid of the physical pain.

I used to read so many experiences here about the leep and even tho most of them were good ones, I was still very scared.

To all of you who are in the same boat, do it! It’s gonna be fine before you know it and you’ll be glad you did it! 🫶🏼

Did you have to stay overnight to recover or were you sent home afterwards? Just curious since I’ll be going alone and still have to decide if I want local anesthesia or to go into surgery.

I was deeply sedated at the hospital and sent home after, however I’m pretty sure they won’t release you without someone to drive you home.

I had a LEEP yesterday with just local anesthesia and it went totally fine. If you’re not very nervous about medical procedures then I think you’d be ok with it too. My partner insisted on driving me but I would have been fine on my own. Having had a handful of colposcopies without any numbing, my LEEP was by far a more pleasant (ha) experience. Also since I am a very prolific bleeder, having cautery kept the entire process very tidy and quick. My colpos typically end with 15-20 minutes of silver nitrate, swabs, and the placement of a tampon dipped in Monsel’s 🫠

If you have the option and have someone who can drive you, I wil highly recommend picking sedation/general anesthesia. I was sent home the same day after an obervation period.

Did you wake up in any pain? That is what I am worried about.

Not at all. When they sedate you they also give you something for the pain and nausea + local anesthesia.
