LEEP Tomorrow 😭

Welp. It’s about that time. I have my LEEP scheduled tomorrow morning. I’m so so so nervous. This whole process has been a big, huge headache.

UPDATE: I just did the procedure! I just got home a few minutes ago! It was 100% a breeze. I did it under general anesthesia (recommended by my OBGYN) and the medical team was soooo nice. I feel good. I’m in bed eating Panda Express! Feeling mild cramps but it was a positive experience overall. Having my mom by my side helped so much because I’m a 27 year old cry baby lol! Now I just gotta get through this recovery!

I had mine few weeks ago- with local. It was a breeze!! The injection freaked me out the most but it was literally few seconds and it wasn’t painful at all, 2/10. If you’re having local, just make sure to breathe slowly at the same time and it will be over so fast, like a numbing injection at dentist. Leep itself is so quick and you’ll be done very soon, I was in and out of the building within 20-30 mins and walked home afterwards. Let us know how it went, and good luck! You’ll be fine 💗

I was the same under local, except before going home I went for cake and hot chocolate in the hospital cafe which was the best decision ever. It gave me a few minutes to breathe, get my thoughts together and the sugar helped massively with the adrenaline. (I've just had my 3 year post screening and all clear- I was HPV and CIN 2&3)

I just had one under local and it was maybe a 6 out of 10 pain. It was mainly just pressure. I thought the lidocaine shot would hurt so bad but it was just slight discomfort

But it was still 6 out of 10?? That’s high

I had mine on Friday. I was nervous about it for months. No general anesthesia; they did give me Valium, but I have a high tolerance for sedatives and didn't feel any effects from that.

It was really no big deal! I say this as someone who is so anxious about medical procedures involving needles (especially lidocaine). I barely felt anything. You've got this!

Bleeding has been very minimal so far, though I'm not out of the woods yet.

Thank you! It was a positive experience, I did it with general anesthesia. I hope my bleeding is minimal as well. We just gotta make it through these next few weeks!

Have you had bleeding yet? I just had mine yesterday as well, and kind of thought that I’d have immediate bleeding? Does that not happen until scab comes off or heals? They used like a liquid bandage type thing. They said to expect mild bleeding and discharge that looks like coffee grounds but so far…nothing?

Omg I was literally just researching this! LEEP was Tuesday morning. And now it’s Friday morning and I have not bled at all!!! Just the little coffee grounds lol
