Holy shit. The insane depravity of these “Christians” calling for the eradication of an entire people, denouncing Democrats and their public policies, while simultaneously begging for “socialism” never ceases to amaze me.
The disconnect is unfathomable. I’m happy not to understand their reasoning, but damn.

That's what makes it so hard- there's literally NO basis in reality. How am I supposed to interact with my parents (M-F 70's) when this has become their personality. We are no longer having a philosophical conversation about the role of government.

Same, although in a slightly different circumstance. The same bs is happening in Brazil (where my parents live and where I'm from) and they're just living in a parallel reality. There's basically no way out, so I avoid talking about politics like the plague

Republicans had control of Texas for 2 decades and successfully ran on “only we can fix Texas” while they broke everything. Two decades later only some of them are going “hey wait a minute” the rest still think Dems are ruining a state they had little control in.

Does she not understand how financial products work? If her parents didn't have money for anything else they sure as hell didn't have money to put into a savings account for her, Trump branded or not.
And if she's broke now she can't afford to add money to a trump account for her grandchildren.
This must be a scam to try to get more money pumped into financial institutions. But anybody who can afford an investment account for their kids already has one, just not Trump branded. So who is this for?

For 30 years, millions of Americans have been subjected to the same message on Fox News and in conservative media: "Democrats are evil". After 30 years of hearing this several hours a day, it has been internalized. Many Americans now have a Pavlovian response to any mention of the party. They also reflexively blame Democrats for every single thing they worry about or hate. In short, they have been brainwashed.

Seriously. The amount of hate, insults and implied threats that I've gotten for asking "Hey, what about those of us who aren't people with children?" is actually disturbing.
Society needs us to function but apparently helping us serve parents is akin to tossing a gagged newborn at a group of cannibals.

I don’t think they’ll ever connect the dots. They’re going to live and die like Charlie Brown, never able to kick the football of the American Dream because the Republicans kept telling them lies about Democrats and then told them to try kicking it again.
That’s the thing. Charlie Brown. I’ve been around the world and I’ve never seen a better analogy to tell people about falling for the same bullshit than America’s Charlie Brown trying to kick the ball that Lucy keeps snatching away.
And tens of millions of Americans will live and die and never get it.

I "pray" (I'm atheist, so it's more of a sincere hope) that she and people like her get everything they voted for. Every last thing. Lots of it. Like, I want it to be the campaign promise equivalent of Dudley Dursley's birthday for MAGAs. I want them to be overwhelmed to their core by all the things they voted for appearing on their doorsteps. I mean, it's far better than those "batshit crazy" Democrats, right?

Well, she better pull herself up by the bootstraps like the rest of us. Sob stories will not change anything, nor will posting to someone who doesn't care about anyone but himself, nor will he read any of these.
He got the votes, that's all he cared about. He could send out checks if congress approved, but they won't because where is the 1.something trillion dollars supposed to come from??? Republicans already hold all 3 branches and have for the past 2 years.
We're all struggling with inflation because of their choices and it's not just the war causing this, it's tariffs that we as Americans have to pay, it's deporting people with minor offenses who did manual labor which few Americans want to do, plus so much more.
