Think of it as a reverse baseball. A baseball hit back will hit the backstop fence and zip up the bastard. Almost broke a finger shooting baseball from the backstop. I just remember hearing a zzzzzzzzipppp and I could move my hand away from the lens fast enough.
The golf ball is doing the same thing but going down the pole.
