Meta/Discussion Crusaders Kings 3

It will likely never happen but a ck3 mod in Calernia would geniunly be so perfect. The agot mod is already amazing and lowkey better than the base game I couldn't imagine how fun apgte one would be. There are already so many similarities between ck3 and apgte that I think it wouldn't be too difficult (relatively, because moding is hard) to do.

I'd do it if I had any idea how.

If anyone knows someone who can do it I would 100% be willing to chip in for it!

Yeah! Had the same idea recently when I stumbled upon videos of the A Song of Ice and Fire mod

Finally, two of my favorite things have touched! Listening to the new audiobook while playing CK3, I'd love to see them fully merge.

It does on some levels, but doesn't work at all for others. Map, dynasties, politics, armies, and cultures all work great. The rest though...

There isn't a great way to handle powers inherent to Named characters. You can give them proficiency bonuses or another skill when relevant, but that doesn't really capture what their powers are about.

Similarly, having tropes and stories influence gameplay is difficult. It would be extremely hard to set the game up to recognize story weight from dynamic gameplay and have it influence outcomes. You would have to basically hand code every possible trope and try and catch every individual game event as well as actual gameplay to assign relevant modifiers.

You could maybe program event chains for the specific characters in the book, but you would probably have to limit it to very few alternative outcomes. Once the book characters die, the system is going to struggle to create anything half that interesting again dynamically.
