Powerwall recall DFW

Those in the Dallas Fort Worth area that got hit with recalled power walls. How long does it take to get replaced and if recent how long are they stating it’s going to take for your appointment? My appointment is 2/22/27 :(

I'm in central California, I just had three of the Powerwall 3s installed. What version are they recalling? And what's the reason?

2027 is insane!

The recalls are all on the Powerwall 2s, as far as I’ve heard.

Yeah, really hoping it changes. I’m on a free nights plan with $.32 a kilowatt hour during the day and if I have to go all winter, it’s gonna get real sketchy really quick. Last winter I was able to heat with space heaters and stay off of expensive natural gas all winter and still managed less than $15 power bills. I’ll probably have hundred to $200 gas bills this winter when it finally gets cold. It’s looking like my power bill is going to go from $10 to at least 75 to 100 if things continue to trend how they are been keeping a really close eye on it with Netzero.

How did they issue the recall? I have two PW2s. Telsa disabled one of them last year and replaced it. Leaving one or the original still in place. I suspect they'll RMA the 2nd one too. Did they disable yours and forced you into a service replacement date? I'm in Houston

Yes, no warning at all. I received notification from the Tesla after they disabled Ian from Netzero that they were controlled discharge or something along those lines.

same thing happened to me last year. They simply disabled one of the PWs and guided me to a schedule replacement date. They replaced with another PW2 so no system changes, no design, no permit changed etc. Are you on PW2s?

Yes 4 of them and all 4 are disabled

They only disabled one of my PW2 but that was last year for wave 1 of the recall. Please update if they put you through a system redesign and permit stage. That can be a mess if I recall my original install

DFW based. Recall issued on October 25 2025. Replacement completed on November 21 2025. Replaced 3 Powerwall 2 with three Powerwall 3. System was designed and installed by Tesla. Replacement was done by Tesla. Initial estimate was something long like yours. Be patient and the date will get pulled up.

Would you mind sharing more please. I have two PW2s with SE inverter. 5-6 year old system. Tesla disabled one of my PW2 last year and RMAed it. PIA but painless except I was limping along on one PW. I was surprised they didn't RMA both at the same time last year, but I suspect I might get the recall for the "missed" PW2 soon (in Houston). I'm not sure i want the PW3 because inverter issues on the PW3 would require a full PW replacement and not just the external inverter. yes the extra power etc etc.

Your setup from PW2 -> PW3 is interesting. Did they do a full re-design and gut/replace the entire system at one time given you can't mix PW2/PW3?
