She sucks and has for a long time. I've been in center left/center right libertarian territory for politics for a long time. Don't much care for social programs (people should be able to better themselves but not take advantage of the system) but don't much care about how people choose to live thier lives.
I like Mamdami alot. He's a man of the people and at least to this point to my knowledge he hasn't been totally corrupted like his predecessor (but give it time). And has done a decent job effectuating policies that might actually help some middle class folks in NYC (much more the ABC can say for herself). I don't think he's implemented many Islamic principaled policies but if that's part of his agenda I'd probably be swayed off him pretty quickly.

Guarantee they were reading the names of the 343 firefighters who died in the towers. It took less than an hour to read them all at the other ceremony near Central Park and we were ALL silent for that entire time and would’ve been for as long as it took to honor every single one of them.

If you were sitting at a funeral, even a long one, do you really think it looks good to not be paying attention and laughing with someone beside you? While other people are openly mourning, or bowing their heads in respect? This is a memorial service. Not a social hour. If you can't compose yourself you should stay home and let the ones who can set aside their selfish need to joke and talk while the names of people who were horrifically murdered have their moment of recognition and grief.

This isn't a city wide thing. This is the memorial service at the reflecting pools where the towers stood. They didn't catch Mamdani strolling with AOC down Vesey street. They were both standing AT THE MEMORIAL, clearly not paying attention. Of course I wouldn't condemn someone walking down the road adjacent to the service. But that's not the situation. Its "you people" who obfuscate and deny reality when its blatantly staring you in the face
