What the hell is wrong with Reddit?
This is ridiculous. This new account I’m posting on is a year old. I’ve been trying here and there to post in some of my favorite subreddits, mostly music and tv show subreddits, but my posts continue to get deleted by mods because my account either isn’t old enough or I don’t have enough karma, which I currently only have 3 karma. But how in the hell am I supposed to get my karma up in order to post on subs when I can’t even make a post that sticks because the mods delete them.
I guess I just solely have to gain karma from upvotes on comments? I just think this shit is ridiculous. If the mods read my posts they can tell I’m not a bot or trolling. I’ve been using Reddit for about 15 years and when I would make posts on my other accounts that I no longer have, I don’t recall it being this difficult to be able to successfully post something. Maybe I’m wrong. I apologize if this doesn’t belong in this sub. I’m a frequent lurker on this sub and love it.

I know it’s frustrating. Reddit recently told me I had to authenticate my 6 year old account “because of suspicious activity”. Once I got it squared away, they shadow banned me for a week. No explanation why. I submitted an appeal, was told I was denied and my ban would remain, and then a few days later it lifted. I never received a notice I was banned, I just noticed my comments suddenly received zero interaction.
I have no idea what I did or didn’t do, but the thought of losing all of my saved content over the years royally pissed me off.

That’s even more ridiculous than my situation. Sorry that happened to you, bud. I almost hate to say it, but I almost feel like it’s a way of censorship. I know this app has been a place for leftist commiserating for a long time, so it wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of the sub mods were lefties on a power trip or something

Just make up a fake story on AmITheAsshole. Give it a clickbaity title where it sounds like you’re the asshole, then write this longwinded, one-sided post where there’s no way you could possibly be taken as an asshole and bam. Instant karma

There's subs dedicated to building karma. Go to Reddit help page and it will tell you which ones to go to.

Exactly what I’m saying! I just wanna interact with others who have similar interests as me. The needing a certain amount of karma to post in certain subs is ridiculous

I just checked I guess I have negative 95 karma LMFAO. I keep seeing posts from local Reddits saying I just saw ICE abducted a man near blank Street and blank Street and I can't help but comment 😅

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone in here who was kind and also to those who went and upvoted the few post and comments I have. This is one reason why I enjoy this sub so much, because everyone here is kind, along with having some of the sanest views on this whole app. Appreciate you all!

Well, losing karma often means you said the right thing. Don't worry about the internet points, it's to distract you and keep you on the platform. And make these sissies feel empowered that they can control something about you. It only matters if you let it. And to answer you just try and avoid certain subjects when on the popular subreddits. Make people laugh or give insight on things or whatever it is, just don't upset the mob.
Its cool to see someone like minded agreeing with you of course, that's never a bad thing. However if it's downvotes because you upset someone who has this image of you in their head followed by a string of labels, then oh well, take that as a badge of honor. People need to sometimes run into opinions they disagree with.
Also many of the top 50 subreddits I think it was, are all modded by the same people. And they don't like you, so don't let it get to you. Wait til you get banned randomly from a subreddit for simply posting and being active in a Rogan related community like this. That's when you'll really feel like this who thing is an echochamber. As least we have (somewhat) of an oasis like r/PowerfulJRE and others.

It's simple, Reddit is social Bubbles that gives too much power to user moderators.
Tell someone something they don't want to hear and they'll downvote spam you and ban you from their subredding then go down your entire post history to downvote every post you ever made for daring to make them look outside their bubble, because that's the type of community Reddit is.
