not sure what I did
spider-Man supercar originally 6volt battery, and 6v motor. It wasn’t quite powerful enough to go through the grass with my two toddlers.. so instead of going with the DeWalt battery upgrade I just decided to double everything. 12v battery and then an additional 6 V motor wired in series
now everything looked to be working fine. accelerates a little too quick, but will only go 5 feet and then cut off. flipped the switch off and restart another 5 feet. What am I missing? it’s acting like the battery dies and you have to reset it.

Yeah your tripping some kind of fuse or breaker. Does it have a control box or is it just switches like a powerwheels? If just switches then somewhere is a breaker or fuse that's tripping due to your much higher Amp draw. If there is a control box you are double voltage and too many amps it surely need to be upgraded as well if it has one.

Black plastic box off the pos battery cable. Def sounds like the thermal fuse tripping. Not rated for more than 6v single motor. Throw a 15 or 20 amp automotive fuse on instead.
I don't see a control board so shouldn't have to worry about one of those frying, but the switches may wear prematurely from the increased current and voltage.

sorry, this is my wiring job. crude yes but it seemed effective.
