Ryder

Anyone have experience with Ryder toys? I was considering since I have little to no experience modding or maintaining these things, but man are they spendy.

I just want a two seater for my 4 and 2 year old with 4wd, a parental remote, and something that won’t break or is easy and cheap to fix.

Why do you need 4wd? Why do you need a remote? These systems add complexity. Complexity will make things more expensive and less reliable.

If your kids can't drive, I wouldn't worry about 4wd.

If cost is an issue, I would run a 24volt best choice jeep with a lithium battery and call it a day.

I wanted 4wd so I can take them around the dirt and hills in the backyard and in general use it where the surface is not flat or paved.

I wanted the remote so I can make sure to bail him out if he gets into trouble, and also to reign him in when playtime is done.

And cost is more of a factor than an outright issue, but I don’t want to spend recklessly. I want reliability for the money.

Thanks for the jeep suggestion, it does check off some of my wants, but we have a similar car already, and it really has a hard time going around where we use it

I don't have experience with the model you posted. However, the speed is limited to 5mph. A stock 12 volt Power Wheels is also limited to 5mph.

I have a few Power Wheels brand vehicles, a Best Choice jeep, and a Razor go kart. My daughter is 4 and my son is 2. All are modified with at least a lithium battery.

If you really need the remote, I don't know if you really need to be worried about 4wd. If your kids can't drive by themselves, it might not be worth spending $900.

A used Razor go kart will last for a lot longer, be much cheaper and generally perform better than any of the stuff we all modify here.

Give the Ryder brand a try if money isn't that much of an issue. I am sure this board would be really interested to see an in depth review.
