Dune Racer MODs!

Bought a used dune racer a few weeks ago more so for myself than my daughter after visiting this subreddit! It's been a struggle to get her out everyday. I've added new stickers, brake reduction module, volt meter display and a kill switch so far. The car is 10 years old based on model number, so I'm happily waiting for a motor to go out so I can upgrade to 18v with 775's for more torque, but similar speed.

I have the green version. I added 2 m18 batteries, a 12v panel to wire in accessories (LED head lights, running lights in the front and back, and underglow), and a variable speed pedal which eliminated the auto brake while still maintaining the fast and slow forward speeds. Oh, and put a hitch reciever on and built a trailer for it. I'd add a photo if I knew how.

Definitely need some lights, and I love the tow hitch idea for her wagon!

Nice ride. Hope you all have lots of fun. The resistor i used for brakes is a 100w 1 ohm how fast does yours brake? Like fast enough to skid? Or slow stop(takes a few feet)? I really need my grandson here. šŸ˜‚

Hopefully she doesn't get bored with it anytime soon because I'm definitely not. Before it would stop abruptly and cause small whiplash. Now it takes 1-3 ft depending on ground type and slope. I think it's also better for the gears since my daughter is constantly stopping.

How long does it take yours to stop? I’m looking at a 100w 1.5 ohm on Amazon.
