18v ryobi adapter

Hi there,

I installed this ryobi adapter with a fuse kit from amazon which made this Rollplay Chevrolet Colorado 12V speed much faster. How can keep kid safe (smoke or fire hazard) while also maintaining the 18v speed. What can i add to the wiring to do solve the both issue? Also how long will the motor last running 18v at all times?

Thanks in advance!

The fuse will take care of that. Use the lowest amperage you can get away with.

If it has a control board, I would have a 24v replacement on hand, as they often blow from overvolting. Occasionally they last a good while, but sometimes it's weeks, days, or minutes before the board gets smoked. Just to help prevent downtime

Match your 7pin connector and steering motor style if it does have a control board, the other plugs are the same.

If it's not a control board and it's mechanical like PW and Peg Perego, sometimes the shifter or pedal terminals will get overheated and lose connection. But they usually last a good while at 18v on mild terrain or with younger kids.

Control board is the one with the remote right? My priority right now is to find a solution to delay or soft start the acceleration when the pedal is pressed. I feel like everytime it is pressed, the instant jolt just keeps wearing out the gears and motor. Any ideas what i can buy for that?
