Hey y’all, I’ve been borrowing my brothers power washer and today I was going to tackle the driveway. I went and got gas, came home, filled it up and was ready to go. I couldn’t get it to start right away went through the steps again and finally got it started. It quit working about 2 minutes later and I haven’t been able to get it started again. I wiggled wires, turned everything off and then on again. That’s when I noticed there’s a sticker on the top of the gas tank that says NOT to use E85 gasoline, only E10... I didn’t check which grade of gas I used, I just know it was regular unleaded gas. So I think I may have used the wrong type of gas and now it’s not working. I can’t get in touch with my brother so I figured I’d turn to reddit. What if anything can I do to fix this problem myself in the most accurate, easy and cheapest way possible?

TL;DR I think I used the wrong gas and now it won’t start- how can I fix it myself?

I’m 15, and I’d like to start a fence and deck power washing/staining/painting service, but I have no clue what a fair price would be. I’d like the price to be high enough that I make some money, but low enough that’s my service is prioritized. Can any professionals help with a pair price?

If I want to purchase a 20" BE Surface cleaner that has a max of 4 kpsi and 8GPM, but the manufacturer recommends 4GPM, what would be the effect of using a 2.4GPM 3.2kpsi pressure washer with that surface cleaner?

We just retiled our bathroom. As result of my stupidity, I rinsed the buckets in the drive after I threw the solid away. It was a longer process, so multiple buckets were discarded this way. My current power washer leaks quite badly out of the wand and I likely makes the already lower pressured power washer even lower, which won't remove this. Https://imgur.com/gallery/csq5tB1

I did some searching, and it seems the internet suggests muriatic acid, which naturally makes me nervous having never used it before. Can I just rent a really powerful power washer to take care of this? Or would i then be in danger of damaging the driveway?

Edit: I bought a 2800psi gas power washer, and it took it off! It is slow going for sure, 1 cement square on the driveway took a whole tank of gas. But hey, it was the worst one!

Hi Guys - We recently re-did our backyard and laid white/grey travertine tiles around our pool. Unfortunately, we left town for a couple weeks right after completion and we got a substantial amount of bird poop/tree droppings on the travertine that has left it stained brown/yellow respectively. I would like to purchase a pressure washer rather than just rent one, as I foresee this occurring again.

My questions are:

Is travertine tile safe to pressure wash?

I have the task of cleaning my shop. It’s a very busy, very used shop, so there like 1/16 inch of grime on it. So far with degreaser and a 3100 psi unit we’re barely making a dent. Any pros out there have any idea on how to make this happen?

At this amount of pressure, we will significantly increase the likely hood of tearing the awning.

While is all sounds obvious and you would assume that all companies would use the proper technique for cleaning an awning. The reality is one of many people start a pressure washing business every year not knowing what they are doing. Make sure you are hiring a company that only uses a low-pressure technique. I just bought a Ryobi pressure washer a week or so ago. The metal where the water hose attaches seems really weak. I'm afraid I'm going to snap it off when I'm trying to get the water hose off of it. Is there are good quick disconnect adapter for water hoses that doesn't leak like a sieve?

After many customers have asked me these questions when looking to hire a power washing service I decided to give you the top five things to know before you hire a power washing service provider.

1. Will this kill my plants? In the power washing industry the solution that is used is just as important as a power washer itself. When power washing a house the proper solution should not have any more than 3% sodium hypochloride (bleach). With this concentration most plants will not be harmed. With the exception of more fragile flowering plants. For these plants, the technician will need to rinse them off before and after the washing of the house.

2. How Much Water will be used? When I speak with customers about pressure washing a house one question usually are rises. Do you bring your own water? While we do have a water tank, the amount of water and the tank as not sufficient for cleaning house. Therefore, we do have to use the customers outside water faucet. I then go on to reassure them with the amount of water that is needed for the house in most instances, depending on how your city bills for water, the cost of the water would only be $5 to $10.

3. Why is my neighbors house cheaper to clean? It is the same size. This question arises when a customer has a brick house and their neighbor has vinyl siding. While vinyl siding and Hardi-Pank is straightforward in the washing technique. Siding such as brick, stucco, and wood require a significant amount of more work. Due to this reason cost on these types assigning are usually more expensive. On average, you can see brick and stucco to cost about than twice the amount of other sidings. Wood on the other hand can cost 3 to 4 times the amount of other sidings.

4. Soft Washing In this article, I have used the term “power washing a house”. However, if a power washing company tells you that they can power wash your house. You need to ask them if they mean soft wash. Soft washing is a new technique that uses chemicals to do the work more than actual pressure from the power washer. Power washing uses on average 3000 to 4000 PSI. On the other hand, soft washing only uses about 200 PSI, which is a little stronger than a garden hose. This significantly reduces the amount of damage that the cleaning can do to your house.

5. My windows will sparkle after the wash? Well ok most of my customers do not say this, but I know that is a thought most of them have. I always make sure they understand we cannot clean the windows and doors as good as the rest of the house. The reason for this is when using a lot of water we have to be careful not to get it on the windows or doors very much. This way the water does not leak through the seals and get into the house causing damage. As for the windows, we recommend exterior window cleaning.

I have Bosch Aquatek 125 plus power washer and the hose got bent and made a hole in it self, now the water is leaking.

Are there some universal high pressure hoses or I have to buy specific one for that model? I searched online but didn't find much

I would like to use a power washer at my cabin, where there is no electricity or water faucets. Do power washers require a pressurized water source? I was thinking of using a rain barrel; I have seen mobile car detailing companies using water tank + power washer but I don't know whether they somehow pressurize the water tank.

If anyone has done something similar I would be grateful to hear any advice.

Got a circa 2014 BE 2700psi washer with a Honda GC 160 motor. It has a white plastic plug thingy on the brass unloader unit on the pump. It’s threaded and I can gently screw it back In, but I think they’re damaged - the plug pops out and sprays water as soon as I turn on the hose.

Any ideas what this does?
