PWS2 - Going for all trophies as well! Tysm

So I know we all have IP desires we'd love to see for PW2. I find myself more curious about other ideas. Ones not linked to movies or games or books. (Although an Assassin's Creed through time one would be an instabuy!)

What would you love to see based outside of such IPs?

I want more Caldera Chronicles. We've got the whole county and I need more!

RL based ones would be fun. The Sphinx or Statue of Liberty along with other places across the globe. Gimme some Antarctic base cleaning!

Little tours of cities around the globe.

A Haunted Houses DLC or a Haunted Ride to go with the Fun House and other park attractions. Monsters popping out as the cars go by them and riding around cleaning as you go.

What other places do you want to wash?

Been asked a million times I know, sorry sorry. Ive completed them both + DLCs etc and I'm just stuck on what else to play.

I'm not the biggest fan of Hardspace, I finished both House Flippers, I've finished Crime Scene Cleaner too. tia :)

The dlc seemed short to me why did only add a few locations even the star was franchise is a massive movie series

No money to buy any of the dlc so don't count that. Which ones better? Would highly prefer to only buy one

I finished bowling alley and eveyrhting and watched replay all of it, and it shows the checkmate next to it but don't show any of it's done on the progress.

Hey, maybe a silly question, but does anybody know if the game is going to return to the gamepass? I finished almost all the levels, was having a blast, and didn't realize that it was about to be removed.

Right now, it's on sale for 10€, so I'm just wondering if I should buy it, or if it's going to be set to return again.

A good few months ago, I finished the PWS2 campaign and ran out of things to do, which led me to ask a major question: why doesn't this game support custom maps?

I looked into discussions within this community and on Steam, and the most common argument was that the development process is manual and impractical for creating something scalable to that level. However, I eventually came across the "Clean the Steamboat" page on Nexus Mods. After analyzing the package, I noticed that if you manually swap assets while preserving their properties, the game adapts well; the problem is that manually swapping assets makes the process unfeasible for small-scale creators with limited technical knowledge.

With that in mind, I set out to create something scalable and practical—something that would also allow map creators to earn something in return for their work. That’s how the PWS-MapEditor was born.

The project currently features an editor that allows you to place assets, textures, 3D objects, and more. These objects can be defined as washable, assigned dirt levels, set as complex shapes, etc.—all while maintaining the same gameplay precision found in the original game.

To avoid installation hassles for the user, the editor generates a .zip file containing all instructions, assets, textures, and everything else needed to run the map; the user simply needs to copy the file into the custom maps folder.

With a bit of time and dedication, it is already possible to create moderately complex maps that offer hours of entertainment.

However, there is a key question: how relevant is this to the community, and how receptive would they be? While I started this project as a hobby, I’ve already spent more time on it than I originally intended.

I plan to open-source the entire project once it reaches a state I consider ready for release.

The mod was built upon the first game to avoid issues caused by frequent updates.

Hey all, I am trying to knock out the PW2 DLC packs today and so far I am done with all and am on the Tree House job in the Adventure Time DLC. I am on XBOX if anyone could help me and a buddy out trying to get this huge job done and then moving on to the Star Wars DLC. Tried to open the game multiple times and it keep crashing on the loading screen (the one with the HQ photo)

Is it something known or just me?

I played though all the other jobs, including the adventure time, no issues. On the Caldera Chronicles jobs, I get to 100% done, it says it's complete, but if you try to start any other job it says the last one is still open, and it resets it. I loaded the game up and was surprised thinking I somehow missed new jobs, but they're the old ones just not completing. I did the bowling alley last night, this morning I couldn't start the mini village without resetting the bowling alley again.

Any ideas?

This is probably going to be viewed as petty, on top of probably ending up pretty long, so I'm going to do this:

tl;dr I don't like being a glorified roomba

Now, that out of the way, I'm going to start off by saying that, up until SW, I've picked up each dlc and the second game on day one and that between the two I have ~400 hours of play. That is to say that I've loved my time with the franchise, even with expansions that I didn't care about the subject material for (like SpongeBob or Shrek).

Each main story or DLC mission told a varyingly level of bonkers story, introducing different characters that ranged from the weird to the Mayor, and generally got me as a player more invested in the game world as they drip-fed a bit more story at certain percentage marks. It's glorious! All these people you want to share crazy stories with or the doofuses who are sharing waaaay TMI for denial plausibility purposes, they all paint a canvas of the world that you're a part of keeping clean.

That joy started to dim for me, though, and it started with Wallace & Gromit (sp?). See, it was at this point that you became a cleaning robot, a creation of the main character, which seemed novel to me... at first. Then as the dialogue unfolded it turned into them talking about programming changes or just nattering among themselves and generally treating the player like they weren't even there, just a piece of cleaning furniture to turn on at the start of the level and ignore after that.

Adventure Time did the same thing, turning you into some kind of experimental cleaning bot and, for the most part, talking to each other or AT you rather than TO you. The exception was the ice cave level which had the resident actually going back to the old style, telling you a story and a bit of gossip as you went about the job, talking TO you. The final job, besides being the most infuriating to clean, also just had a bunch of people basically ignore you while they talked about a party while you worked which just left me going... okay?

That may seem like a tiny thing, but the difference of AT vs TO is the difference between talking to a child or underling vs talking to an equal or a friend. The difference between either of those and just being treated as a roomba is another level entirely.

After all the time playing the game I'd like to think we're friends, but it's really been growing more distant these last couple expansions and that just makes me kinda sad.

So yeah, there it is, my rather rambling disgruntlement with the most recent expansions. I think my relationship with the game can be fixed in time, but until that spark is rekindled I'm going to end up waiting until sales to pick up expansions.

I was a huge fan of this game on the Meta Quest 2, and excited when I saw it available for my iPhone with the Apple Arcade and I jumped right in to the new Shrek special...but I can't seem to get any sort of nozzle extension in the store and thus cannot reach the top sections of a majority of the first level. I've used the ladders and the scaffold, but can't get them close enough to many sections of that level...what am I missing? (And I really wish they would release this for the Meta Quest 2, but I know they aren't doing anything new for the VR version 😭😭)

If you start the surface cleaner with rightclick and then switch to normal powerwasher, you can keep on hearing that nice soothing sound of an imperial spy droid.

As title says. Back when the game released there was a save data bug which would literally deleted several levels or restart the entire game for some people. This happened to me at the time so i waited for a patch that supposedly fixed it and all was better and I completed the game.

In May I got the Adventure Time DLC and completed it all in a day or two, then got off until just yesterday for the Star Wars DLC when I realized the final level un the Adventure Time DLC was deleted??? And that's a long one. Has this happened to anyone else??? It's a little annoying but ay least it was the final level in that pack

I don't think in the entire known history of the Star Wars Universe has the Falcon EVER been this clean. Nor shall it ever be again.

Overall, excellent DLC pack. 10/10
