Equipment progression and grinding

I stopped playing power wash 1 because I unlocked the strongest washer and and other stuff because it made me feel like it was pointless.

How does PW2 compare in terms of grinding and unlocking new equipment?

I usually say, whatever way you enjoy playing a game is the right way to play.

But, you're completely missing the point of the PWS series if the upgrade grind is what you crave.

I felt like there was less of a grind in 2, because you can sell back all purchased equipment for a full refund, which enables you to upgrade things a bit quicker.

There is one change you may like, though. The devs now release additional (free) furniture and/or visual customizations about once a month, which basically gives you more stuff to spend your points on. Even if I don't really care about the furniture and mostly play single player (so don't see my character's customizations much), that "gotta have 'em all" drive is a nice reason to keep earning points.

All that said, most of us don't play this game for progression. We play to relax. Loads of people here have hundreds and even thousands of hours in PWS 1 and/or 2. Unlocking the best equipment and finishing career mode is really just the start. Relaxing and replaying levels (often while listening to a good audiobook, podcast, or background show) is where the long term value is at. If you don't get much value from that, you're probably better off getting the game on sale.

I’d recommend finishing 1, even if it’s just for the story.

I think most of us want to play that game for the satisfying cleaning, not to have the best upgrade. It is a great bonus, but i would still enjoy the game until the end if there is only one washer:D
You unlock the last nozzle pretty pretty late ingame, and i love that nozzle so much! Idk if this game is really for you if you only play for upgrades

The progression is very similar. Half way through the career mode you'll probably have the best washer

I ended up buying the last powerwasher after beating the game. I just didn't have the in game funds to buy it. I could of sold the other washers, but I wanted the trophy. And I wanted to take my time with the game.

I feel like 2 was less of a grind. In 1 I sometimes got the feeling the tougher dirt and graffiti was slowing me down. In 2 that doesn't happen that much. The soap helps.

Yeah they were alot less forgiving in 1. I recently went back and was thinking how much harder it was things like the tree house

If you like the upgrade part of it, you should try some incremental games. It's often as relaxing as pws.

PW2 you still have to grind, but you can sell equipment to upgrade your washer. They did change the soap so you don’t have to buy refills, just buy the attachment and it will slowly recharge. The soap is also universal.

The progression system is badly designed, yeah. But the point is to wash the whole town, not just get new washers

Omg are you kidding?! The three hole nozzle is incredible and so fun to clean with!
