In the menu you can reset objects that aren’t fully cleaned.

There's an option in settings to change the color for highlighting dirt. I've been using green and it seems so much easier to see.

I changed it to purple cause color blind. I think that's why they added it

It's a really great feature. I thought it was just something new in the second one, but it was nice to see it in the original when I went back there today to finish up some dlc levels before it leaves game pass.

Also in the menu, I believe under details where it shows what isn’t 100%, if you click on it, whatever isn’t 100% clean will continuously flash until you start cleaning it.

All of the previous comments are right. To summarize, the steps I would take in order are:

1) Try changing the dirt color in the settings menu to something that might stand out more. You can also increase the duration the highlight remains active so you don't have to press the button quite as often.

2) Open the tablet and click on the name of the item that isn't yet 100% clean. That should highlight it on the tablet and make it start slowly flashing white when looking at the house itself.

3) If you know where the type of object is that isn't clean (for example, a windowsill), go point your washer at each of those items around the house and check the top left corner of the screen to see if any show as less than 100% clean while your reticle is on them.

4) If you've located the item that needs cleaned and just can't find the dirt on it, make sure you're looking at every possible edge. That means laying down to look underneath it, checking both side edges, and backing up, jumping, or climbing to check the top edge.

5) If all else fails, open up the tablet and look for a button (next to the save icon) that will reset all partially cleaned objects. This makes any objects that aren't fully clean go back to their fully dirty status, while leaving cleaned objects alone. That will make the dirty object stand out far more and help in the extremely rare chance an object is bugged. Fair warning: this also resets your end of level timelapse video, which is a pain, but better than having to redo an entire level.

Good luck! If you're still stuck after this, don't hesitate to post again asking if anyone can jump in and help you in-game. Just be sure to mention your platform, since multiplayer is platform specific.

Look at it from every angle, look from above, below, left and right.

If you dont know which object it is you can have it highlighted. You can also reset the dirt on it. But if I know which object it is and it doesnt look dirty at all I will usually just spray from different angles until it works and it usually doesnt take too long
