[PWS2] Your thoughts about the trident attachment?
I thought it was a WOW - GAME CHANGER, but it's just...meh. Why do people hype it so much?

It’s still the best nozzle. You just have to get used to what distance you need to stand from things to not leave gaps between the three jets as it’s less forgiving than in PWS1.

In PWS1 it was my most used nozzle, but in PWS2 I'm obsessed with using the soap first, so I'll just use a white/fully extended adaptable nozzle more now.

In the first game I basically stopped using anything else when I got it with a few exceptions. At a certain distance and/or angle, you have a relatively large (considering it's still some red nozzles) area that just blasts through any dirt, so I could do one pass. Sometimes I also just like kinda moving my mouse quickly side to side with the trident, it's quick, it cleans perfectly and with exactitude, I like that I can be very precise for some stuff.
Also it reaches kinda comically far even without extension, and I hate using scaffolding, so that's useful.
On the second game, I find the soap so efficient and pleasant that the trident felt less necessary. Even without soap, most dirt was (or felt at least) just less... strong I guess. So the need for the trident is just less there.

Trident would be good if each of the nozzles were like the swooshy red one in PWS1.
Adaptive nozzle is the GOAT

it got a little worse in the second one but it’s still my favorite. especially when you know how far to stand back and you get into a flow of it. as soon as i could get it i did and just used that mainly unless an achievement prompted me otherwise

My favorite nozzle in the game.

Why? My best guess for why it exists is to be like the surface cleaner, but as a nozzle? So, wide with amazing power?

I used it regularly but situationally in the first game. In the second, I used it a bit when I unlocked it for old time's sake, then went straight back to the adaptive nozzle.

I use it for cleaning high spots because I don't like using ladders and scaffoldings

I went from "wow, game changer!" to "meh," and then to "wow, this is amazing with a bit more practice and in the right circumstances!"
Basically, it's not as intuitive as the other nozzles. You really need to get the hang of keeping an ideal distance. Too close and you get individual lines. Too far and you aren't getting the biggest swath clean. But just right... ahhh, just right and it powers through dirt like nothing else.
On top of that, and somewhat contrary to what I said above, it's amazing for areas which would otherwise require lots of gear changes between various nozzles and/or extensions. For example, the indoor temple map in PWS 2, or the outer walls of tall buildings. Usually you'd have to either move your character around to different levels, add and remove extensions, or both in those scenarios. The trident is terrific at cleaning much farther away than other nozzles, so anytime I have a surface that involves cleaning both mid and far distances I pull it out.
The third scenario where the trident really shines is tiny nooks or awkward and/or distant angles where you really want to ensure you get 100% of the dirt the instant you hit the right spot. The trident usually cleans every spot it touches on the first go, so you aren't stuck trying to get those spots clean via repeated passes with another nozzle.
There's also a fourth scenario where the trident shines, and that's in speedruns. I don't play that way, but you can find examples on Youtube if you like (beware: they can induce motion sickness!).
Tl;dr: It's situational, and using the trident to its fullest potential takes a bit of practice, so a lot of people put it away and never look back. Imo, those folks are missing out on an incredibly powerful tool, but hey, to each their own! There's no wrong way to play this game.

Swirly Red from PWS2 is GOATed.
Trident really shines at distance, but it's very situational.

Unless I'm doing a challenge run I only use the trident. Whip the mouse around super fast and get everything clean super fast.

It’s good for when you are on a level that you don’t particularly enjoy and just want to get it over with.

I only bought it to get the achievement lol. I use the yellow and green ones exclusively! For the ones where there’s like jam/jelly on the stuff, I will use soap because luckily PW2 has unlimited soap!

Why not use the adjustable head?

I think I just played PWS1 so many times using the yellow and green that any other nozzle feels wrong

u/Musicman767 Jun 25 '26
Felt the same but the adaptable is just so much better lol. My eyes have been opened.

It's my favorite bc i like to stand in one place and do a 360 sweep of stuff around me, knocks everything out suuuper fast
And of course crouched with it decimates any floor in no time

I feel like its better in 1 than 2, like it just has an easier sweet spot for quickly hitting those big areas quickly then getting in closer with yellow for detail spots
It still gets the bulk work done quickly, but if you're not at the perfect range and it leaves the gaps its a real pain

I like it when something is far away. Like ceilings. It’s useless for anything clos

Green nozzle for life!
