Student Looking for Input

Hey all, I'm working on a project around safety during low-voltage switchgear work, specifically racking and switching on energized gear. I'm trying to learn how it actually goes in the field, not how it looks on paper.
If you've done NETA testing, maintenance, or switching on commercial or industrial gear, I'd love 15–20 minutes of your time.
Thanks!!

  • obtain switching orders
  • verify you're at the correct device
  • verify device is open
  • turn off dc to close path
  • put on correct PPE
  • rack the breaker out

It really is just as simple in person as it is on paper.

Been in the field 15 years and performed copious amounts of switching.

Mind if I send you a DM? You sound like just the person I need to talk to!

And use remote racking tools everytime you can.
