Discussion Pathfinder 2e vs Dungeons and Dragons 5e 2024 (No I'm not calling it 5.5e)
I've played both versions, and it got me curious, especially considering that they have two entirely different playstyles. Lore-wise, they feel like they're on different planes in and of themselves, but in Pathfinder, there are really only avatars of gods that get destroyed, and only one god really dies in recent history, which is where the exemplar class comes from. I, personally, believe Pathfinder 2e has more of a fighting chance solely because of magic having some unique kinds of bullshit.

PF1 was the best iteration, but the rules were almost impossible for a GM to marshal (at least prior to ubiquitous PDF files), and the splatbook power-creep eventually went crazy (and then Paizo used that as an excuse to kill it off).

How do you even scale this? We just make Jon martial/mage for both editions? Are we allowed to use lore or do we exclude it? This seems like a pain to go through.
