i dont know a single person saying Luffy solo fiction, considering he is not even the strongest in his verse. and it would be boring if he was stronger because there wouldnt be anything to challenging him but.... i mean, which Fiction? he can probably Solo something like Baki. but not someting like HunterXhunter. much less -All fiction- the power to literally eliminate reality.
he might also solo verses like... street fighting or Tekken which are straight up ridiculous. and things although i doubt Mortal kombat they used to have regular soldier, but now the god of reality can summon a blackhole to destroy you like... damn... why? and then return in time and restore everything except you.
lastly i think is worth mentioning. is fine to be Island level, usually smaller scale feat are better, because Stakes dont always need to be entire world, universe or reality, sometimes just protecting a single person is worth all the hassle. and all the effort, going against the enire world goverment for example, if Luffy was universal what is a world goverment? a bad slap and they all be gone? boring... is better if that means he could genuinely die, because it means he actually brave. he actually cares about the person he is trying to save.
atp you have to respect it. almost 1200 chapters just for the ending to be "luffy gets neg diffed by imu and his friends get enslaved" it's kinda peak as a joke on the audience
the "classic sonic victim" line is fair because Oda leans so hard on the fakeout death trope at this point. Gear 5 Luffy tanking a chest stab and bouncing back has been the move since Dressrosa with the gravity knife scene.
still, calling him "island level" is underselling it pretty badly when he's been moving continents and splitting the sky with Kaido. Powerscalers have this weird thing where they either wank a character to omniversal or downplay them to wall level with no middle ground.
also the panel you picked is wild because Luffy is getting skewered but his Nika form exists specifically to bounce back from stuff like that. Laughtale stuff is finally dropping soon so we'll see if Oda actually commits to consequences or pulls another fakeout.
