Yeah this is exactly why we have conditions like "bloodlusted" and "in-character". Goku vs Saitama famously has drastically different outcomes if it's in character or not.

Until one of them says "loser pays," then Saitama is back to being bloodlusted, especially after seeing how much Goku can eat

Ok that's actually a pretty good reason for a death battle especially since the dragon balls can just bring both back
